I love the show! Brings me back to the days of working at a local bakery as both a dishwasher/ maintenance person. Being in the weeds during the Holidays, a breakfast service, a brunch service, a 5 course Valentine’s and Sweetest Day shift. I love how honest both of you are about the ups and downs of the service industry. Your show is amazing! Keep up the great work ladies! You rock!

Updating my original review, I was a little bit of a jerk. This is a fun podcast with lots of good stories from the service industry. I enjoy it quite a bit, and binge listened to it rather quickly. Enjoyed one of the newer episodes on hotel service especially, former banquet captain. So a lot of my service experience is in that particular area. Never made the money like their guest did, but I worked for a punching up courtyard Marriott in Lincoln NE that was owned by Mormons. Not sure if that last bit matters but thought I should include it. Anyway god speed and good tips.

As a lifetime food service worker, I can relate to this podcast so much. Their guests and server submitted stories are hilarious and informative. I recommend this to anyone regardless of food service experience.

I absolutely LOVE sidework podcast!!! I’ve been in the industry for almost 20 years and everything is so relatable. There are LOL moments in every episode. Brooke and Andrea have read some of my server submitted stories and I scream in pure joy and excitement when they announce that my story is being read. I found this podcast through the LPOTL group, and I love it! I have never been a server, but I worked retail for way too long so I feel like a distant cousin lol. The hosts seem to have a great friendship (which seems to be why I gravitate towards certain pods) and the guests are interesting too…tho one guest seemed to get way too drunk and rambled on and on. Kind of like what I’m doing now!!

Brooke and Andrea dive right into the meat of what the service industry is really like, from funny stories to tragic ones and everything in between. The server submitted story episodes & the recent hotel episodes are some of my favorites. It feels like I’m talking smack with my coworkers at the industry bar after a shift when I’m listening, especially when they have guests- and that’s the best feeling!

I just spent 30 min this morning creating an apple id and all that just to leave a single review for this podcast. Yes its that good! This podcast is so important and so funny. These girls and their guests keep have the best stories and the best insite into the service industry. The research is so good, the stories that people write in will have your jaw on the floor. If you have a great story you might just win a fart in a jar. I love this show and went through the headache of dealing with itues just to leave this review. god speed and good tips.

Love the headlines and server submitted stories. I was a server until 2020 and currently working an office job. Sometimes the pod makes me think about going back to the server life but they always share a news story or server story that brings me back to reality and realize that job was too hard. Love them and the guests they have on!

I have been listening to this podcast since the beginning and it never gets old! Just when you think there can’t possibly be a topic related to the restaurant industry they find one. I love the server submitted stories! As a former long-time waitress and current self-employed personal chef, I have had my hand in just about every facet of food service. There are times that I have literally laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe. If you have ever worked in any type of food related business or even retail you’ll find this relatable and hilarious. If you have never worked in those fields, you should listen to this because it will still be funny and you will no doubt gain a greater appreciation for the under appreciated “essential workers” among us. As a past server, I adore this pod. The servers stories bring me back and I love the banter between hosts. Sometimes I skip through the Covid-related rants because they are coming from a far left perspective. As an independent I can understand to a certain extent but can’t entirely relate. Living in LA I hear this narrative constantly, so the dialog is nothing new and one that gets shoved down my throat constantly but it’s tiring when I’m just trying to listen to a fun podcast. Either way, still giving 5 stars and will still continue to listen and recommend since these ladies are talented, fun, and insightful!

Brought me back to the days of kids eat free and all the spaghetti you can eat Mondays. I didn’t realize I needed to face those demons before I could move on with my life. Aural therapy at its finest.

I gave Side Work a listen when I heard they were doing a retail episode during the holidays, and I was immediately hooked. I've not worked as a server, but have been doing retail(and fast food) for long enough to know the similarities and the exact kind of customers talked about good and bad. It's not full of inside jokes that are hard to get so jumping on at any episode is quite easy. Of course the early episodes are great too!

I hate DD and all delivery apps, but Relay is amazing! Please support them!! They’re reliable and keep the restaurants and couriers a priority, financially especially. Love yews!

Honestly I just gotta say I love sitting and listening to them go on about customers and fellow employees and the things they have witnessed. The host’s dynamic is really fun and enjoyable and you can tell these two women have worked their butts off for the restaurant industry and I really value their stories. It’s also helped make me a better customer!!
