Fun show, one of the better ones out there. I wish the episodes were longer. They know their stuff but they’re just not as knowledgeable about the genre as shows like Exploding Heads ( plus they’re funny) 22 Shots of Moodz and Horror and Jay of the Dead’s shows.

I thought I knew horror movies, but this podcast is the source for excellence in deep dive analysis of the genre. Amazing!

I found out about this show through listening to Horror Dads. Can’t stop listening, lots of fun. Also, I’m from NJ so cool to hear stuff on the show about my home state.

I have been listening to this podcast for years. I love the content… it’s great for horror lovers looking for something new and fun. Great sense of humor that takes you down memory lane at the aisles of block buster. Truly , this podcast fulfills my VHS horror fantasy

I love horror and nostalgia. I also love genuine people, good conversations and people talking about the things they love. Mikey and Matty are great dudes and the chemistry between them will keep you coming back. The movie recommendations are great and you’ll be entertained for days. If you’re looking for a podcast that releases 4 episodes a month…this may not be the one for you. BUT! When the new episode DOES come out, it will always be great and worth the wait. It’s about quality not quantity. Family/life comes first to me as well and I can appreciate the fact that they make sure the podcast comes second to that. If you sign up for their Patreon then you get double the episodes, go ahead and just do it now, you will eventually anyways. Thanks guy!

I been Marathoning these guys and much like the subject of my post, There great. The more episodes you play, the more you get to know them. The more you get to know them, the more you laugh with them. For any tri-state fans of their podcast you gotta check out “Friday Night Frights”. I forget how I cake across this podcast in the past few weeks, but with so much Halloween love here, I’m surprised I haven’t come across it sooner. Loved doing thru the back catalog the past few weeks and can’t wait to see what’s next.

These guys are great. You just really want to be friends with these guys. They seem like really down to earth cool people. Also only talk about horror. No political or other movie genre. Which I love.

I listen to a lot of horror podcasts and this is one of my favorites! They have great themes and lively discussions in every episode, which always makes the show fun and enjoyable!

Listening to this show is like a time machine into your best friends living room for a movie night decades ago. They love filmmaking, they love watching movies, and most of all they love sharing that passion with you. I’ve been a fan for years and have listened to every episode. I’ve found a lot of great movies at their recommendations and love to hear their opinions on our beloved classics. Even when I disagree, it’s alway refreshing to hear other people put that much thought and emotion into our unforgotten genre gems. I followed this podcast on Instagram for sometime but never got around to listening to an episode until Dec of ‘20. Matt and Mike provide some really fun insight on horror films as well as some very heartfelt and sometimes delightfully campy sketches. Much like horror films provide a fun escape from everyday life, the alone in the dark podcast provides a much needed escape from my 2 hour work commute. 5 stars, slashersteve says check it out.

If you want a podcast from two long time horror movie lovers then this is the one for you. Listening to them is like hanging out with some friends and talking about the horror movies you love. You can feel the passion that they have for these movies and the effort they put into every show. The only negative is that they don’t release every week but what they put out is great.

You don't know how glad I am to find this podcast. It isn't just two guys talking about a movie for an hour, it's all about the lists. Mike and Matty being passion, humor and enthusiasm to every single episode. The list idea is unique and I appreciate greatly. Rock on guys, you two are awesome!

These guys are awesome. I love horror movies and Alone in the Dark was actually my first horror podcast! They inspired me to start my own. Super genuine and hilarious. This is a very good podcast, maybe I’m crazy but there seems to be a lot of movie podcasts,and this is one to check out. It helps that the hosts have a similar frame of reference to my horror memories and we love these older cult classics and obscure gems. They have a lot of information to go with the nostalgia as well, and they can go into entertaining detail on things like soundtracks. These guys are the real deal!

If you’re any type of horror fan, be it obsessed or just the occasional viewer, this podcasts is filed with information on the new and old alike. They dialogue in such a natural and casual way it makes you want to just be sitting with them and a couple cold ones having the conversation with them. Good work and keep it up guys!!!

I really enjoy this podcast! It’s one of my favorites for sure! Listen to them review and talk about all these different horror movies is great! They’re fun to listen to. I’ve also gone back to watch movies I’ve never seen or watching movies I’ve never heard of before listening to these guys! I recommend 10 out of 10 that you listen to this poscast!

Alone in the Dark is by far my favorite horror podcast out there. It is unique and innovative, with a level of preparation and detail that is unmatched. Mike and Matt have fantastic chemistry, and continue to produce one amazing episode after another. Keep up the great work!

This is one of the best horror podcasts I’ve listened to!! The hosts are very knowledgeable and I really look forward to every new episode :)

Great podcast with a variety of formats. Sometimes its complete movie commentary, sometimes its top 5 lists, sometimes its interviews with horror professionals, sometimes its skits... pick your poison. I don't always agree with their opinions but they're fun to listen too either way. I have to say its my absolute favorite when Matt and Mike are together! Listening to their experiences with horror throughout the years makes me think about my own and makes me itch for more.

I like this podcast. It’s fun and light. My one complaint is how creepy these guys sound on their commentary episodes. You’d think they were teenagers who have never had sex before. I recommend skipping those episodes. Other than that, if you want a fun horror podcast that isn’t too negative I recommend this one.

I don't always agree with them (Evil Dead Remake) but I love the nostalgia based picks for their lists and subjects. I am myself an 80's horror lover, I grew up sneaking away to watch slasher flicks as a kid. It's very entertaining and gets me pumped to watch horror movies every episode.

I wish it was Halloween all the time and this podcast makes that wish come true! I love horror movies but am a bit of a novice and this is not only a great podcast, but a great introduction to horror.

Yet another horror poddcast but this one is one of the better ones.It's very well done,informative and fun to tag along for a listen.The hosts are knowledgable but not snooty.They definitely watch a vast amount of stuff,because they throw titles that I have never heard of,in addition to the more mainstream stuff.
