Remote ProfessorStill going!I listened to MS on a local college radio station a few decades ago. I was happy to find that it’s still going and available on podcast. This is music you won’t hear anywhere else.

zcrab1234Great show to see live or hear in feedI went to Mountain Stage years ago and was very impressed, so I was excited to just learn that there was a podcast version. Check it out for an eclectic selection of music that ranges from Appalachian to zydeco.

SnallygasterAlways amazingLike a night in the mountains- cool, crisp, refreshing and clean. Every episode presents some amazing artists, old favorites and new talent. Sometimes funny, sometimes heart wrenching, always the best part of my week. Put it on around the campfire or fire pit some breezy autumn evening and experience what life is all about.

RockAfeghGreat MusicThis was was my very first show I truly enjoyed on the radio. I have been listening since 2013 and cannot get enough of the music! My musical horizons have broadened and I really appreciate the concert vibe.

SkaphishLove the energy and depth of the artists that come thru this concert seriesI have been listening for years but never wrote a review. The American experience really comes thru in the music of this podcast. The bands that are invited to this venue are the best in their genres. The history and depth of American music is just a Byproduct of listening to this great music. This is the best Americana, blues, country and singer/songwriter music that can still be heard live with some older stuff from artists that have left us. There is also some world music thrown in here and there but the American experience and protest music , that is extremely thoughtful and well done , is the heart of this podcast. An extra bonus is Mr Bob Thompson on piano. He is the best in the business. Julie Adams and Ryan Kennedy are some additional favorites of the House band. Don’t miss the finale song each podcast as everyone gets involved and showcases true musical talent that has paid their dues in the music business. There are no amateurs or newbies here. Only the real deal.

Puppeteer107The myriad music is magnificentI've been missing mountain radio since I moved away from WV. I love this podcast that I can get anywhere.

almost famous folksingerGaryThis show is an American treasure. Its so wonderful to hear some of your favorite artists in a live setting and then discover artists (that you have never been exposed to before). Though steeped in the "roots" genre, the show also sometimes breaks into other related genres as well like jazz and rock. May this show and its creators continue for years. And may its fans spread the word about this wonderful show!

Hula75Hula❤Love this show❤I truly appreciate being able to experience Mountain Stage via podcast. I spend a lot of time on the road, and I play and re-play these episodes. Great travel music!!
-
BWSMITH1974Never a disappointment! This show is a true West Virginia treasure! The shows are an eclectic blend of musicians and singer songwriters. Keep listening and they'll introduce you to new genres of music as they expand your playlist. If you're ever in Charleston on a Sunday evening, make sure you stop by the Culture Center and see Larry Groce and the Mountain Stage band.

Michael ColinA gemGreat vibe -- great music. Thank you to all who make it happen!

MUslC.L0VERListenable Roots MusicAlways fresh and listenable Americana 'roots' music recorded before a live audience. I've been listening for years on NPR. And hey, 'wherever you are, go out and hear some live music today!'

MJ~23Great Place to Find Underrated MusicI love Mountain Stage because it often features artists that I may not have heard before and turns them into regulars on my playlist. The crew does an excellent job of bringing us this music, which in turn shines a light on the "Mountain State of West Virginia".

ianthegreytOne of WV's Besf QualitiesMountain Stage is actually a family tradition for me. My dad started taking me when I was around 11. Can't even begin to recall all the amazing talent I've seen/heard on that show. They're always supporting great artists whether they're up and coming or already legends. My favorite part is going to see on act in particular but leaving being a fan of 4 more.
-
Rhemy24Outstanding program! This program has turned me on to so much great music. I hope to experience it live one day.
-
WVHipChickMountain StageWas pleased to see a local favorite, Tyler Childers, on Mountain Stage. He and his band are most excellent.
-
Radiofinn1I always find something newThe great thing about Mountain Stage is this - I always hear at least one artist who is surprising and new to me. I often come to the live show or the podcast to hear one musician, but before I leave I've found another that I love just as much, if not more.
-
Lithia2I always find someone new to like when I listenI occasionally go to the Mountain Stage shows in Charleston, and every time I learn about a band or artist I'd never heard of before. It's the same way with the podcast. I hear from my old favorites and bands that will become my new favorites.
-
Smokin_okraI'm in luvvvvvvvvvvI look forward to mountain stage every week! It's like someone took my iPod and made concert dates out of the artists on it
-
LET THE GUILTY HANGMtn State TreasureThe fact that so many West Virginians aren't advocating this jewel is a shame. This program and the people involved is one of our State's greatest exports!
-
Paul J DLove the content, but...I love the content, the artists, the venues, etc., but....the audio levels are always way too low. I have to crank up all volume knobs to 10 just to hear it, whether its in my home, office, or vehicle. this is the only podcast where I have to do this - all other sources of music are fine - so I dont think its me :-)
-
Deb-pacLove this programOn my bucket list to see live
