cldoyle63Love the deep-dive of sci-fi movies! As a lover of all things sci-fi…especially sci-fi movies of the 50s and 60s…this podcast of in-depth discussions of the cultural and historical importance of the genre is fascinating!

Sind6160Love this showI love this show. Mostly because I love Science Fiction and I’m old enough to have seen a lot of the films you discuss. I’ve been listening for a while and was always wondering how you have been doing this ad-free. As much as ads are annoying I am so happy for you, and us, that the podcast finally has ads.

Mogera RobustaOccasionally EntertainingIt isn’t mentioned in the shows description, but this is not general analysis and discussion of old scifi movies. It’s feminist critique, which has its place in the art world, but gets a little tedious when you try to make everything about one issue, especially when the work under analysis makes no attempt to address gender at all. Not worth the listen unless you’re really into gender studies.

GoldCapsMy New Favorite Show!Ayesha must be exhausted from all the research and work she puts into each show! The guests are always excellent and whatever wrangling Khan has to do to get this extensive list of scholars to show up is with it, at least to this listener. Each episode is like a film class!
-
SoggyfootTokyo File 212You said that you were unable to find Tokyo File 312. Or perhaps it was a typo. But I found it on IMDB as Tokyo File 212. I love this program. It’s a little long for my bike commute, but I get to finish a program on the way home!

Strait punchAlienI am a big sci fi enthusiast. Alien is in a class by itself. Somehow, the film had a way of putting the audience on the Nostrumos. Finally a realistic landing on a foreign planet. The lines are enduring for film writers

HHousePerfect for sci fi fansThis show is off to great start. It approaches sci fi from an academic view, with plenty of critical analysis. But it also recognizes that we are fans and gives us a common language to communicate about this genre.
