Mr hostetterNopeAll the charm and depth of an infomercial but with worse music. How big of a QT Stan does one have to be to listen to this drivel?

Murfco LLCLove Gala, love (most) of the episodes.Let me first say I love the podcast! Iâve been a fan of Gala since my intro to Video Archives. She is a thoughtful interviewer and knows her stuff. But one guest got completely under my skin. Steven Meiers Dominguez was next level obnoxious. Besides the, âoh I want your life.â âYeah Iâve heard that four times today.â And the desperate need to convince everyone how cool his taste is (taking shots at Speilberg, edgy) it was the waxing nostalgic about a time he didnât experience. Sorry guy, if you grew up with the first web browsers then you didnât actually grow up in the era you are wistfully recalling. I did grow up in that era, and as much as the younger generation likes to think there was a curmudgeonly hip dude behind every counter who would steer you in the right direction, that rarely happened. And I grew up in Chicago, a major metropolitan city with lots of record stores and video shops. What really happened was, you hunted those stores, but you also read zines or the Chicago Reader or some free magazine (Vice) that told you want was cool so you could go back to the store and not get ridiculed for your choices. The internet didnât destroy that, it made it all substantially easier. There is much less âgatekeepingâ in the world when you have an endless library of genres and stories to choose from. Just because some dude at Wax Tracks told you to listen to Joni Mitchell, doesnât mean he wasnât telling everyone else the same thing. Iâll take an algorithm over that any day. OK my rant is over, but I do love the show!

Philip Duke IIGreat show and great premise! The 30 minute time limit to discuss your passion is a great thing. Itâs an easy listen to a fun discussion. If the rest are as good as this one, then thatâs awesome. Keep it up.
