Adoptees Crossing Lines

In Adoptees Crossing Lines, I expose the lies and harm of the adoption industry and family policing system. Can’t Stop Listening
I am a queer, white woman in my 30s. I won’t have biological children, but I do want a family, so I’ve been searching for stories about adoption and foster care. Stumbled upon this RARE podcast that actually centers **the stories of adoptees and people who have survived the foster care system,** as opposed to stories from the adoptive/foster parent perspective. This has been vital listening for me, and absolutely exploded my perspective of what adoption means. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This podcast has changed my life and will impact my future decisions. I am inspired to learn more about abolition. Excellent content, well produced, expert guests and researchers from all facets of the industry. The personal stories that the hosts and guests share are profound, vulnerable and fascinating. Truly an amazing listen.

REAL STUFF ABOUT ADOPTION NOT SUGARCOATED!
Okay, so I follow this podcast on social media as I was coming out of the FOG as an adoptee myself and dealing with severe trauma and just listened to the most recent episode with Azriel and they’ve been my first adoptee friend on social media and I was like “this is gonna probably hurt like a lot but they’re my friend and I care and Love them!” So I listened to this episode and loved it, their story is a lot like mine after I listened to it I was DM-ing them as I was listening having similar experiences as an adoptee. When I first came out of the FOG I was mentally a mess, medication was completely messed up and I was forcibly institutionalized twice in my life and it really made me worse when I came out of that. Anyway just wanted to say FANTASTIC podcast and Azriel told their story well and beautifully and really hit me hard! and they are right I wouldn’t be alive if it wasn’t for this community of adoptees!!

    Amazing show
Wowzers! I’ve known I was adopted for 30 years and I have never connected with another adoptee.. This show speaks to so many things surrounding being adopted that I have experienced. Great job!

finally found the adoption podcast for me !
REAL TALK about not just adoption but about the different ways one can come to be adopted. their words “shared unique experience” is right on. as a fostered kid turn adoptee, listening to these woman speak makes me feel understood, included & seen in a way i haven’t experienced before. i also appreciate how each podcast starts with a clear statement of what it isn’t.. they aren’t focused on adoption positivity or gratitude for their adoptions however after each listen & NUMEROUS times throughout i feel my heart & spirit expand with deep gratitude & appreciation for these three insightful, brave, beautiful beings ~ THANK YOU for shining your lights; we need more of this in our communities 🌟

    Love the adoptee perspective
I’m an adoptive mother and listening to this podcast allows me to hear the ‘other side’ so I know what things to talk to my son about. The episodes so far have lead to SEVERAL great conversations with him and I (he’s 12). I also appreciate that each host comes at adoption from a different place.

    Mind blowing!
I am an adoptive mother as well as sister. This podcast has opened my eyes, heart and soul regarding the intricacies of adoption. As a sister with two older, adored brothers, this has expanded my understanding of how they might have felt. As a mother, I am appreciative for this invaluable insight to better help me journey through raising two daughters (sisters) out of foster care. This podcast has brought to light so many thought provoking issues that I find myself pondering them days later. I plan to listen intently to continue to improve my understanding. It’s so very important!

Thank you for sharing your stories!
    1. I love the support these three lovely women have for one another as they unpack their experiences. 2. This podcast is so informative to listen to as a person who has little understanding of adoption, especially from the vantage point of an adoptee. So many things said by these women have struck me, but the line that has stuck with me the most was “In order for adoption to happen something tragic had to happen first”.

Not sure why tiktok sent me but good job!
One of the hosts showed up on my Tiktok ForYou page so I decided to give this podcast a try. It’s very well done and the sound quality was excellent. It offered some good insight into America’s broken adoption system and the hosts were honest and candid about sharing their experiences. A good starting point to an uncomfortable conversation that NEEDS to be had in our society.

    YESSSSSS!!!
Something we adoptees have needed for a lifetime. I’m so grateful there is finally a spotlight on the trauma that is adoption. These ladies are intelligent, engaging and have the experience to be relevant and knowledgeable… I can’t express how excited I am for the rest of the episodes. All adoptees (and anyone connected in any way to adoption) need to listen to this podcast!! The shift can’t happen soon enough!
