A great way to “meet” and spend time with luminaries of the cartooning world. You will hear career advice, but it’s woven in with humor. And not just for cartoonists, but anyone interested in humor in entertainment will find this interesting.

This podcast is excellent. Bob Eckstein is funny and picks the best guests. I’ve learned so much about cartoonists from this podcast and I enjoy listening to it while I’m working on my own artwork. It seems as though Bob often specifically asks questions that will be helpful and informative to other artists and illustrators. Also, he draws out some pretty zany stories from people. For instance, learning Marisa Acocella literally was bitten by cartooning bugs as a youth while vacationing in a house formerly occupied by James Thurber, has definitely been one of the most interesting news acquisitions of my year.

If you like to laugh, this podcast is for you! I recently picked up the habit of laughing. I experimented with laughing on weekends at first, sneaking a laugh while no one was looking. I found that I was slowly becoming addicted to laughing and would laugh during the week and would sometimes laugh at work. I even started laughing while driving. I started not caring if people saw me laughing in public. They’d give me a funny look and that made me laugh even more. I like laughing so much that I now try to get other people to join me in laughing. I know, I know, you’re thinking what kind of sick and twisted person would do this? The easy answer to that is a sick and twisted person who likes to laugh. I encourage you to listen to this podcast and laugh like there’s no tomorrow (unless it’s that evil scientist laugh because you had something to do with there being no tomorrow. That’s not a healthy laugh).
