Philosophy #162

Law, politics, crime, and culture—in a word, "conflict". If you have trouble telling the good guys from the bad guys, Law and Legitimacy is your podcast. Norm Pattis is a trial and appellate lawyer focused on criminal defense and constitutional rights. Norm is also a long-time newspaper columnist and the owner of one of New England's oldest bookstores. A contrarian by nature, he believes that no group is quite so frightening as a self-righteous mob. His objective? To make you think. Welcome to Law and Legitimacy.

    Relevant & elevated discussions
I enjoy listening to the in-depth discussions and opinions on current court cases, applications of the law and the politics of the day that are offered here. I’m interested in seeing this podcast grow because I like to hear the knowledgeable analyses on important issues so that I can form an opinion rather than just be brainwashed by the political parties and the mainstream media. This gives me something to think about. But, I’m no fan of Michigan football. Go Gators!
  • all nick names are taken lol
    Great Duo!
Norm and Mike are as intelligent as they are articulate! Topics discussed are on point and interesting! Law students would be wise to watch them and listen! They distill the most complicated current events to a level of understanding that non law people could understand. They are funny and entertaining too!!

    Two knowledgeable Lawyers
Mike and Norm do a great job discussing constitutional laws issues in a quick and understandable for way for laymen. Norm’s berth of knowledge is amazing and actually makes you think lawyers are ok people.

    Bigly not good!
Don’t take legal advice from a podcast. Unless of course you have a billion dollars you’d like to give away to people you hate.

MUST-LISTEN-TO Podcast for Any Aspiring Lawyer
Listening to Professor Pattis is like being in the pre-law class in college that your alma mater never offered. The Law & Legitimacy podcast covers "The Law". Full stop. Most legal podcasts include heavy doses of politics to expand their audience. Norm sticks to The Law.

This Law Talking dude isn’t that smart
Listen to Opening Arguments instead. At least they drill down to the law and actually explain it.

    Absolute joke of a human
The man fell asleep in court during trial. He looks and behaves like a cartoon version of a used car salesman. Rats nest of a hairdo and all. F this guy - what a joke.
