Well-researched, well-written, well-performed, and witty. A podcast to cherish, although I am sad (but understanding!) about the probable end of the storyline.

I’ve been listening nonstop, and I can’t overemphasize how great of an educational resource this is! Considering the content being what this is, the episodes are actually very digestible. However, given the beast Chinese history is, this isn’t a podcast you can absently or passively listen to… especially if you’ve no prior experience with the topic. I encourage listeners to engage actively, because the content is worth your attention. After the first half dozen episodes—and I implore you to stick around at least that long—I highly recommend using the supplementary materials on the website for each episode.

I really enjoy this podcast. Eric is knowledgeable and able to convey complex issues to a non-specialist audience; his voice is pleasant. I also like that he brings insights from other disciplines and other geographical areas.

I love history, but as an American, I don’t know much about early China. This balances learning with an easy, fun tone. It’s informative but not so technical that I feel bored or burned out on it. I’ve really enjoyed binging this series and I’m excited for new episodes to come out.

Mr. Andresen combines the right amount education with the right amount entertainment and flare. Listen on my way to work and while harvesting my vegetables from backyard garden. Definitely give this a try
