    Good content but often lengthy
As a cottage food operator, I appreciate the knowledge I have gained from listening to the show. However, I seem to finish each show wishing that it was more concise. One way this could happen is to ask those he interviews open-ended questions. Most questions are close-ended and don’t allow the interview to progress naturally. This as well as as cutting down the show time to a max of 35-45 minutes would keep the listeners attention.

    So helpful

They didn’t know you had one and are excited to come listen. Thanks for being a great resource for a Cottage Baker.

    Love it!
I just love how informative this podcast is. I love that while I learn new techniques on marketing from all these entrepreneurs, I can sympathize with them as well. As a working mother and wife, life gets hard and on top a small business owner. I can relate to many of the guests and learn other ways to make it work. I love listening to it when I’m alone in the car, so I can grasp every single detail without interruptions. David you are doing a FANTASTIC job, keep at it! Thank you for all you do!

    Excellent—highly recommended
As great as the guests are (and they are great), hands down the best thing about this podcast is David. Interviewing people is an art in itself, and he is pitch perfect in his approach. He sits and quietly listens as the guests give their answers. He’s not constantly popping in with interjections like “uh huh” or “I see.” He just lets the guests speak until they’re finished speaking, which is so great and really refreshing. Also, he asks super insightful questions. David recognizes what the most important questions are, and he doesn’t leave the listener hanging when the guest only gives a half answer. He goes ahead and asks the questions that you’re dying for an answer to. That seems like a pretty difficult skill to hone, and he’s got it down. It’s a great listen, so much so that I think it would be super entertaining even if you aren’t interested in starting a cottage food business.

    Helpful and relatable
I find the podcasts to be very helpful and relatable. Many of us start from the similar points where we are, in life, family, kids, main jobs, our ideas, etc. listening to others successful experiences helps to see the way up and and resolve I going issues on the way. I find I can relate to many of the bakers experiences and how the dealt with the situations I myself experience on my journey. So I highly recommend these podcasts to anyone frowning their cottage food operations as you will find so many topics that you might have questions about already answered! Thank you David!!!

Listening to this motivates and inspires me!
I am in my first year of creating my own Cottage food business and feel so fortunate to have someone like David on my virtual team! The information is so pertinent to every step I am learning to navigate. His interview questions go deeper and really dig into not only the mechanics of what it takes to start a fledgling business but the emotional pieces that undoubtedly we all deal with issues in finances, time management and growing the business. Every week I look forward to see what David is going to bring to the table! I have a routine where I get ready to bake for the week’s Farmers market, and turn the podcast on while I bake. I feel motivated and inspired and feel a part of the Cottage food community. It feels like they are right in the kitchen with me. My smiles are from ear to ear because I am doing the thing that makes my heart sing along with these other “family” members. Their struggles and successes motivate me to carry on. Thank you David for this awesome podcast and service you are providing to the Cottage Food industry!!

    Whitney Singletary’s Victorious CFO
Although all podcast were very inspiring and informational I must say my favorite was the 47th one. “Do whatever it takes”. Whitney had such an inspiring story. She took 1 recipe from her great great great great grandmother and turned that into many recipes, went through investing money in a building and told they changed their mind in the blueprint and took a loss, neighbors calling the cops, other bakers trying to copy and all the while she is a one man show. She basically turned her business into an “Empire” if you ask me. Her recipes are a signature because they are authentic in the homemade way she prepares them, tried and true and she is still standing and expanding. Needless to say her customers love her products and they contributed to keeping her business and helped build up the customer base. My favorite part about her story was how the cops that were called on her became her customers and security guards..lol! Im proud of her for not giving up. She fuels my inspiration for my CFO every time I listen to her podcast. In my opinion these podcast help us to learn about resources available for our business, hear other obstacles fellow CFO’s face and how they overcame them and give us the motivation to keep going even when we feel like giving up. Thank you David for the podcast. Your appreciated for Forrager.

A very unique and informative podcast for home based food businesses
I’ve known David for quite a while, and met him through his Forrager website, the only comprehensive website for cottage food laws for the entire country. When he started his podcasts it was such a great opportunity for everyone to meet cottage food operators from around the country. Hear their struggle with their state laws, how they overcame them, built their businesses and thrived. I humbly was the interviewee for Episode 2 and David was just an amazing interviewer asking all the questions he knew his listeners wanted answers to. Highly recommend for cottage food peeps, as well as people who love to hear great entrepreneurial success stories. As David embarks on Episode 50, I can’t wait to hear more of our stories hit this unique podcast!

I'm getting started as a Cottage Food Producer and I have been hesitant to get started, but fortunately several people recommended the Forrager podcast. I wasn't expecting a whole lot but David has a wealth of information to help a newbie actually START a business. You don't have to have a lot of money, just take the baby steps that he outlines to get started. His interviews with successful cottage food producers are so helpful because of the insightful questions he asks and the answers those questions elicit from the person he's interviewing.
