Caing316Gospel GeniusLove love love it! One of the best gospel explanations I have heard in a long time. I love the background knowledge to further deepen my understanding of what was going on during that time. I am currently looking for your gospel breakdown of John Ch 3 but I can’t seem to find it??

ChosenFan2001Best Podcast Ever!I’ve been listening to this podcast through the Hallow App for over a year. It’s really the best way to understand what the gospel writers were trying to convey to their particular audiences. It’s part of my morning routine and helps me to keep everything in perspective and be focused on Christ even while working in this secular world.

Joycee 50+WonderfulGreat explanation of the daily bible readings. Easy to understand. Great insight. I love the short daily lessons that help explain the context and literal meaning of each passage!
-
Fr-JoeGreat brief commentaryI’ve been very grateful for this hidden gem of a podcast. The brief exegesis is well studied, and he also brings in the Catholic tradition with CCC references. As a priest, it’s also great for a little homily prep!

Judy HawkMy Journey to Know JesusAfter listening to Bible in a Year and the Catechism in a Year with Father Mike Schmidt, I wanted to deepen my faith by getting to know Jesus through the Gospels. Words cannot express my gratitude for the power of this podcast. My understanding is indeed so much deeper. It is a joy, yes true joy, to immerse myself every morning in the enlightened words of the Gospels through the work of Hayden and his team. Thank you!

cbailey721Great way to dive into the Gospel everydayI found this after I finished Fr. Mike Schmitz’s Bible in a Year. While not better than, this podcast does something different in that he brings us through line by line what the Scripture means and how it can relate to both the early Church as well as now. Highly recommend it as a way to pray with the Gospel as well as intellectually study Scripture.

Michelle🙋🏻♀️The one podcast I listen to dailyI absolutely love this podcast. As someone who is new to reading the Bible, I love that it breaks it down and explains it by reading line by line. Not only does it really make me understand the reading, it also correlates the reading to the Catechism. Unlike other Bible studies, which gives a summary or overview of chapters, this delves into it without it being overwhelming. Highly recommend!

dmhinbosFantastic podcastThank you for this podcast! I enjoy listening to the literal meaning of the daily gospel, how those around Jesus’ would likely have heard and interpreted his speaking and how his miracles would have profound effects on those who witnessed them. I’m learning so much! This podcast is helping to deepen my understanding of, and love of, our faith.
-
PaulaW007Absolutely love itI’ve been listening to this podcast for over half a year now in Hallow, absolutely love it! It gives you the verse by verse understanding of what’s going on. The literal sense. What the author is saying. Amazing source to accompany the daily gospel readings.

PromethibotExcellent Podcast! :]I listen to this daily; it’s insightful (especially when it comes to context), the presenter has a warm disposition, and it helps me think more about the Gospel of the day, and keeps it in my mind. Thank you for making this podcast!
-
Mike N LHelping me to have a deeper understandingThe podcast is a great way for me to better understand the context, history, and significance of what was written in the gospels. Providing the text from the Catechism of the Catholic Church that are connected to the daily gospel readings is also very helpful.

D Music LoverHaving doubts nowI’ve been listening to the Daily Exegesis for some time now, but was quite disheartened to hear (regarding the January 21 reading) that hungry disciples were walking through fields “eating corn” with a lengthy description of how corn is shucked for consumption. Corn did not exist in Judea in Jesus’ time. It was a product of the Americas and not introduced to the Old World until the 15th century. The inaccuracy of this presentation calls into question validity of other information presented in the podcast.

$731)70sgkxBring a little faith into your dayAs a cradle catholic who hasn’t read the entire bible, this has given me a really accessible, comprehensive look at the Bible. The connections the narrator makes between Old Testament and New Testament readings are mind blowing. Thank you Daily Gospel Exegesis for everything that you do!

my nickname is busyReally great explanationsI try to listen to the gospel reading every day. I don’t always understand them, or I think that I do, and something bothers me. This podcast explains the literal meaning, and then the spiritual meaning & it gives differing opinions when there is no Catholic dogma to define it. This has helped to explain so much to me, and clear up many of my misconceptions. It has made listening to daily Gospel so much more rewarding, and brings me closer in my faith.
-

JosephS2024Best Catholic Christian Bible StudyI love love this podcast so much. I learn every day when they go over the gospel reading of the day. They do it from context of when the reading was written and who the audience(s) are and then they look at meanings of the context as they pertain to the time. They also then look at how spiritually it may pertain to us now. They provide references. It is just an amazing show.

Salem, New HampshireStill learningI love to get a detailed, in depth preview of the gospel readings before I attend daily Mass. This podcast has expanded my understanding of the context in which the teaching occurred. I especially like hearing about the religious practices of first century Jews and how Jesus came to fulfill the old law.
-
Itsgreat123Exactly what I was looking for! After many years of only finding gospel reflections, I’m grateful I was introduced to Exegesis through the Hallow app! This podcast is fantastic because it places you in the context of the times and it tells you the intended meaning and of the text, but still allows you to have your personal reflection on the text- it doesn’t take that part away, like reading gospel reflections which are others meditations on the text. Incredibly grateful and so full and encompassing of each gospel passage! Thank you for providing this great resource!!!

Tiffani SeatonThe Podcast I Did Not Know I NeededThis podcast was suggested to me by a fellow sister in Christ. We are apart of a small group that meets bi-weekly to discuss where we see God working in our lives and the lives of those around us. Approximately 2 months ago, I started feeling a strong pull to attend daily mass when I was able. I listen to the exegesis of each gospel reading the night before I hear it the next day at mass. Not only does it prepare me, but it opens my heart to the priest homily and connection between the first/second reading and the Gospel. It has taught me so many wonderful facts! I find myself scribbling notes all over my Magnificat. Thank you! Thank you!
-

MacFitz7A deeper understanding of the bible readingsI have been following this and have appreciated the bible study which gives me a better and more thorough understanding of the bible verses in context. I have been skeptical of how passages could be taken out of context to prove an idea or teaching. I prefer to know the context of the passage to understand it without distortion. This podcast gives me that. Thank You!
-
Shopper37Wonderful show! This podcast has been such a blessing. He reads the gospel each day and explains the background story and sometimes I feel like I am right there in the story.
