    Long but entertaining
I like this podcast it’s a little long with a lot of rambling but interesting that it’s pottery related. I like to listen while I work or in my car. I assume they don’t have kids because there is a ton of cursing and unfortunately can’t listen to this with my children in the car.

    My favorite
I love this podcast. I listen to it in the car and when working on pots. Becca and Ryan are a wealth of information and make me smile and laugh!

    My favorite pottery podcast!
When I first started listening to this podcast, I thought, “are they ever going to talk about pottery”. However now that I have been listening for over a year, I can say I absolutely love everything about this podcast! Ryan and Becca are both super knowledgeable and two totally different personalities that play off of each other so well. The opposing yet funny and friendly nature of the two host, makes for very entertaining listening. I want to note that I love the new maker of the moment segment they are doing! You can tell Ryan is very thought out and methodical in his approach and response, and Becca is very shoot from the hip. I love how she takes the listeners down rabbit holes and makes up stuff like “potter with a capital “P”” The way these two talk, make you feel like a best friend listening in. Plus when they talk about their sponsors it doesn’t feel forced or pushy….but has legit made me want to buy an LnL kiln lol….Hot Kilns.coooommmmm

    Love it!
I love the different styles between both of them. Sometimes I see the type A elements that I have in Ryan, and my chaotic energy in Becca. They make it very relatable and interesting. I am absolutely loving the new featured artists.

    Podcast needs an editor
I like Ryan, but Becca’s style of podcasting is…not my cup of tea. She’ll interrupt guests to say things that, in my opinion, don’t add any value to the conversation. She also really REALLY needs a new mic.

    I love this potcast!
I stumbled across this potcast because of Ryan posting an ultra-organized graphic of his earnings on Instagram. I was intrigued because Ryan has a full time job and is doing this for funsies. I’m hooked and am listening to the potcast from the very beginning—I’m on Becca’s Big News potcast now, where she is announcing her move to the Midwest. I REALLY REALLY want to skip ahead past their pandemic episodes but I have FOMO and don’t want to miss out on something, whatever that might be. I’m a new business owner and just started my pottery side hustle while working my full time job. Thank you for the inspiration and relatable content! You’re POT-tastic and POTABULOUS! ♥️

A perfect listen for long studio sessions!
At first the length and format of this show seemed long to me, and then I turned it on while throwing and trimming… and my opinion totally changed! I love hearing longtime potters chatting / talking shop, and hearing from others they bring on as guests is also great. Thanks you two for doing this! It makes me feel less alone while working in my home studio space! - @dianesanfilippo / @dianeceramics on Instagram.

    I always learn something
As a newbie I alway learn something new on the podcast. Listening has turned into a Saturday morning ritual while drinking my morning coffee. I love to new 2 hour format!! I like ver the interview with Link Henderson, so informative. This week I learned why beer steins must be very smooth on the inside. I’m always learning something.

    Makes me a better potter!
I’ve been a Wheel Talk listener for years so this review has been a long time coming! I will never understand the people who give this podcast anything less than 5 stars because the runtime is long. Well, buckle up for this review, buddy. I freaking love this podcast. Becca and Ryan have a wealth of clay and business experience that they willingly share for FREE with all of their listeners. Moreover, they’re generous with their time and energy outside of the podcast as well. They’re quick to answer any question with thoughtful responses and advice. This podcast has given me more great tips, tricks, food for thought, and encouragement than I ever could have expected. Like many listeners, I work alone in a home studio, and Becca and Ryan have become like my studio-mates. Their banter in the beginning and throughout each episode is welcome background conversation and regularly makes me laugh. It’s been a joy to follow each of their journeys through the clay business, and their ups-and-downs and topics of discussion have helped me become a better potter and businessperson. Thanks for everything you do, Becca and Ryan! Never change! And to the jerks who give Wheel Talk less than 5 stars, honestly, get a life. Don’t you have something better to do?

    Helping Me Build My Business
I really love this podcast! I started my pottery business about a year ago and have been listening since day one. The balance of information and banter holds my attention while giving me hope that one day I can run my business with a little less anxiety. Listening to Ryan and Becca talk had a calming effect during those late nights spent glazing before my first craft fair. I listened intently as I chose my first kiln and was encouraged to start teaching classes to children even when I didn’t know if a single person would sign up. Now I teach clay classes all over the place! Thank you for all you do, and don’t stop doing it!!

    Love!
I’m new to pottery and live in a small town. I just recently bought a new wheel and kiln. It’s cool to feel connected in a small way to others that do this. The closest larger town is about an hour away. I’m really enjoying listening to this at work. Thanks guys!

Keeps me coming back for more
The posting schedule of this podcast conveniently aligns with the day I normally work on pots, so it seems like I’m always listening to and looking forward to the latest episode of Wheel Talk. This podcast is a treasure trove of information for those like me who are trying to make a hobby or business working with clay. It is light and fun and easy to listen to. I also appreciate that they take the time to answer listener questions and/or respond on social media. Thanks Ryan and Becca for making my garage “studio” a little less boring! @mostly_mugs

Reminds me of a department meeting
I’m a teacher and this podcast reminds me of a department. We get together and shoot the breeze for a while, get down to business, get sidetracked about nothing, and by the end of it we’ve done some good work but maybe could have been accomplished in half the time. But would it have been as fun? Probably not. Listening to Becca and Ryan for a few months has made me feel like more of the pottery community because they’re so welcoming and honest. Also, beware, this podcast is PG-13 on a good day. Mostly some swearing but if you’ve got small kids and can’t hang with that then don’t listen in the car on your way to drop off. My kids know they’re not supposed to use “mommy and daddy words” but that didn’t stop my son repeating Becca, “A F***ING SANDWICH?!” Good times.

Insightful, humorous and all around fun
Just listened to the GravesCo podcast with Rebecca Graves. Loved the camaraderie between Becca, Ryan and Rebecca. They sound like 3 longtime friends who enjoy sitting around discussing all things - business, personal, health & wellness and their kitties. Really enjoyed hearing all about Rebecca’s struggles and successes with running a business. So much insight! Learning to say “no” and actually follow through and stand up for yourself is sooooo important. Look forward to to seeing the new rebrand!! Side note - The part about Rebecca’s husband and his pants was absolutely hilarious 😂. Sounds like the women that go home from work and the first thing to come off is their bra! The 2 1/2 hours flew by and I was sad when it ended. The Aleatha Bean podcast was another of my favorites! I honestly don’t think I laughed as much listening to any other of the 140+ WheelTalk podcasts. Go and listen to it also. She’s such a sweetheart! Btw, always here for the banter and Mayo is the right answer. 😉
  • potter-harry
Nice people but cut to the chase please!
After 25 min of listening to them talking about nothing related to ceramics, I gave up! Sorry, I wish I had more time to hear them talk about nothing.

    Informal information
I’ve been catching up on episodes for a couple months now. I love listening to this podcast while in the studio because Becca and Ryan give great information but deliver it in a humorous manner that keeps me laughing through the whole show. Being the only potter in my small Indiana town it’s almost like getting to have potter friends. Keep up the great work. P.s. thank you Ryan for the clear coat recipe, it works great!

How to scar college students 101
I think my absolute favorite part about this podcast is how funny and relatable Becca and Ryan are. Everything is so informative but easily accessible to anyone because of how down to earth these two are. I find myself laughing and talking back to both as if I were right there with them. There’s just one problem. I’m the Ceramics TA at the University local to me, I listen to this podcast with headphones, and I’m never alone. My students now think I’m crazy. So thanks for that. 10/10 would recommend.
  • Morgi4Lyfe
    Enjoyable pottery podcast!
It’s funny because recently on an episode, I heard them mention they received a review that said something along the lines of “I didn’t love it at first, but it grew on me”, and I totally agree. At first I was looking for pottery podcasts to expand knowledge of the craft, and the specific pottery content seemed to be the minority of the time per episode and the rest was just banter. Well now I love the banter! It is a great thing humanizing makers, and getting to know people and how their personality/lifestyle is translates into their work.
  • kkatieg
    I love this podcast!!
It’s so fun to listen to you both talk about your lives and pottery! I can’t stop listening. I’m slowly catching up having gone back and listened to the older podcasts! Thanks for doing this:)

    Great info!
So happy to have found these 2! Great information and helpful. Fortunate to have been able to meet Ryan and Becca in-person and ask questions.

So glad I found you! 😁🎉So sad I’m caught up!!😫
I found you guys this spring and have happily been listening while I work. I’m a flower Farmer so I spend a lot of time in the field. Alone. Perfect podcast time! I’ve been looking for certain types of pots & planters… can’t find what I want so I’m diving into pottery this winter!! I did have clay in high school & still have access to my teacher, she and I are good friends. My hands are muddy almost every day, but different kind of mud😂🤣. Looking so forward to using clay again & I feel like I’ve learned so much already from your “potcast”, the videos Becca has posted and all the links & guests I now follow that you’ve introduced me to!! My only complaint is that - HORRORS -😡😫 I’VE CAUGHT UP!!!! I wish you had more recorded. So now I have to wait til you post. So sad. But I’ll *try* to be patient. Keep the fun coming!! 😁 Thanks for your candor and humor. I laugh out loud every during episode & love all the Disney references, even when you don’t know what movie the songs are from ( Hello Mulan!) 😂😂😂 I’m hoping to be good enough & lucky enough 🤞 to participate in Pot Swap Official 2022!!! I’ll keep you posted on my progress , or lack there of! Melissa

    Makes my Saturday morning!
Wheel Talk is a absolutely wonderful podcast. I feel that I’m kicking in the studio talking with friends about how to really make as it potter/ artist. I’m clay sculptor who is re-emerging after illness and moving cross country. A lot has changed since I was selling my work. Becca and Ryan give great tips and strategies to sell your work. There episodes on selling at art shows, selling online, fabulous interviews and much much much more. I feel that Becca and Ryan are friends I’ve never met. Yes I do talk back to the podcast. It delights me every Saturday morning when podcast drop.

I’m So Glad I Found This Podcast!!!!!
I’ve been meaning to write this review for some time. While searching for a pottery-related podcast about two years ago, I happened upon Wheel Talk. When I saw the pink tile with their caricatures on it, I remember thinking, “Oh I have to listen to this one.” Little did I know just how much I would enjoy it! Becca and Ryan are so genuine in their information sharing. They are very knowledgeable, entertaining and so much fun to listen to. Wheel Talk has become an invaluable staple in my studio each week and I have learned so much along the way. I look forward to each new episode. Thank you Becca and Ryan!!!

    Interview
I really enjoyed the interview with Link from Kentucky Mudworks. I learned so much about the chemistry of clay. It was such an interesting episode and Link is quite real and entertaining ! Thank you for your great podcasts.

I love it, you all are probably open. I’ve never second-guess sense of scarcity in the pottery World, people are reluctant to share your tips and tricks. You give everyone tools and tips so freely. Thanks!

    New here and loving it!
I received a BA with a concentration in pottery and photography in 2000 . . . Then life happened and I fell away from the creative world. I became a Registered Nurse and then a Nurse Practitioner and Midwife and . . . was still searching for my joy and passion. My kids are grown now and I am prioritizing more time to focus on MY happiness. I have decided to dive back into my roots of pottery. Just purchased my first wheel for my birthday 3 days ago and plan to figure out the kiln thing once I have a kiln full to fire. Lol. It’s scary to venture back into pottery on my own; without the guidence of an instructor and trying to remember “all of the things”. Lol. It is super helpful and comforting to have you guys as my “friends”. To give me the reminders of how things work, the stories of your f ups that make me feel more comfortable about mine that will surely come around the corner. So thanks for all that. I’m really enjoying it!

    Always educational and entertaining
This is my favorite pottery podcast by far! Ryan and Becca are extremely generous when it comes to sharing their knowledge in both making and the business aspect of pottery. They definitely have the “there’s room for everyone in pottery” attitude and it’s very refreshing. I have learned more from them than I ever expected to. This podcast is a true gift for he pottery community!
  • Ellie Pettry
    Great Potcast!
I love how open and transparent Ryan and Becca are— As an aspiring potter it’s really helpful to hear tips, tricks, triumphs, and struggles of working in pottery. Both have wonderful personalities that pair well, and I enjoy all the banter between them — pottery or not. Excited to keep listening!
  • rocktreestudio
    Thank you!
Hey Ryan and Becca — Thanks for making a podcast full of wisdom and wit. Your words have been simultaneously inspiring and grounding as I work to set up a home studio after a 10+ year break from pottery.

    Studio friends
This is my first EVER podcast so Becca, and Ryan have set the bar quite high. I feel like we have all been friends for years, except I have yet to actually meet them. I can’t tell you how many times I try and chime in my two cents 😆 forgetting I’m not actually part of their conversation. They are both just so personable. They don’t have there ducks in a row all the time, but neither do I, and I love that relatable nature to their podcast. They are both fun, humble, informative, and easy to listen to. A forever fan. - Jodie @Mudslinging_Pottery
  • Linsanola
    Informative and down to earth!
I love how the pottery community are here to help each other become greater potters. Ryan and Becca go above and beyond that with this podcast. And any pottery questions you have, ask Ryan and he will say “there’s an episode we did on that!” and then tell you the exact episode on that. :)
  • sarahcrowleyceramics
    Never miss an episode
Ryan and Becca are the best! I love that they share everything about their businesses. I feel like they truly want to help other potters. Listening to a Wheel Talk podcast, while I’m throwing alone in the studio, makes me feel like someone else is on the island with me. It’s great and I highly recommend binge listening if you haven’t already!
  • Lgoll
    Love them!
I love this podcast so much! It feels like having friends in the studio with me. Also, I feel like Becca should have an endorsement from IKEA at this point
  • Sammy01144
    One of my favorite podcasts
Such helpful information about running a pottery business. Thank you for being down to earth, being honest about the daily struggles and asking really good questions when you have guests.
  • Country_91
    Great for all stages !
I’m still new to the world of pottery and have built a mini studio in my garage because of no access to community studios this last year. I’ve learned a lot from you guys, even when I didn’t realize it. In a year of being back in clay I can see lots of progress and am starting to feel more confident about my work. Thanks guys, keep on rambling!
  • GoodCompanyInc
Gah! I love this podcast so much!
Wheel Talk has become my weekly ritual. I really like Becca and Ryan’s casual conversation style. I try to listen when I have a long or tedious project to work on because it feels like I have friends visiting together next to me. The longer each episode gets the happier I am! If you want to learn the nitty-gritty of making pottery and/or the business of pottery they have practical, unvarnished and open conversations about business, money, profit/loss, pricing, successes and failures. Some of my favs have been year in review & goal setting, pricing,Becca’s honest conversation about mental health, pivoting in business, tips for selling at shows/festivals/markets - Just to name a few. Don’t listen if you want a short, scripted, sterile podcast... or if salty language is a deal-breaker. If you want Real Talk, listen to Wheel Talk!
  • LoveAGoodRamble
    The Most Lovable Ramble
The best way to hang out in the pottery studio solo and not feel lonely is to switch on this podcast and listen to Becca and Ryan ramble about all things clay in the most lovable and adorable way. Thanks for the never-ending tips, stories, and tidbits. It took me a dozen or so episodes to get hooked, but now I'm a junkie.
  • Val Flynn
    Hilariously educational!
Becca has been my friend and pottery mentor for the past 5 years. I have learned more from her than anyone else I know. She is the most giving person I have ever met and it comes through on the podcast. I continue to learn more from her every time I listen. Knowing Becca literally makes me want to be a better person. I hate it. And I love her. She is a delight to know and if you listen to this podcast for long you will see what I mean. And then there is Ryan, sweet sweet Ryan. This man has just completely stolen my heart. He is the absolute perfect match for Becca’s how do I say rambunctious. Ryan is concise, professional and clearly has a heart the size of a wildebeest. The relationship between these two is an absolute delight! I’m so glad they found one another and started a podcast! Totally meant to be!

    Hi Ryan and Becca
I really enjoy listening to Wheel Talk. I have gained a lot of information from you. I started listening at about episode 78 but I have gone back to the beginning and listened to some earlier episodes, too. I have enjoyed episodes with guest potters that you have had on your podcast. I think you both do a good job of putting them at ease and creating a friendly atmosphere. Maybe you are already friends with them before the podcast but you definitely seem like friends by the end of the episode. I fee like Wheel Talk is a great resource for anyone interested in learning about making and selling pottery. I follow you both on Instagram. Becca, I hope you are enjoying your job. I am awed by the bat after bat of identical pots that you throw. Ryan, you are working diligently to build your business. I wish you every success. Rachel must be a really patient wife because you are working some major long hours! I have had a kiln for a little more than a year so I must say that your “What would you do if” segment about the top of the kiln collapsing was pretty hair raising to consider. Anyway, keep up the great podcasting. I’m looking forward to episode #90.

    Awesome podcast!!
This podcast is so so awesome! Ryan and Becca are such kind people and it comes through in their discussions. They are open and willing to share all of their knowledge and they will even answer questions I have for them in their Instagram DM’s. Best podcast ever!

    Great Podcast!
I listen to Wheel Talk while working in my pottery studio! They are so funny and knowledgeable. They recognize that there are more than one way to do things! Some people are stingy with their information or knowledge, but not Becca and Ryan. Keep up the great podcast!!

    Insightfully hilarious
I’ve only recently started to listen to podcasts and Becca and Ryan are one of my favorites! Down to earth but still full of knowledge that they generously share. I feel like I’m hanging out with a couple friends shooting the breeze when I listen. I highly recommend :)

    def a fave!
After 9 months, I find myself looking forward to each show. Ep 37 about kiln venting was hilarious, listening to Becca boss Ryan around about getting a new kiln (I agree with her, btw).I adore how they just say it like it is. Their friendship chemistry is so fun and engaging! Becca’s episode about depression was fantastic, just matter of fact and honest. It’s pretty special in the world of podcasting, not just the WT world. So glad they’re contributing something unique and valuable to the small group of pottery podcasts!
  • kcamero
    The best pottery podcast ever!
Hey guys, You brighten my day every time I listen in. The podcasts give so much useful information in a casual conversational format (which is not easy to do!) Keep up the good work!

    Keeps me company.
This podcast really grew on me! I don’t always agree and sometimes I yell at my phone as Becca and Ryan discuss things, but that’s what makes it fun! I’ve been binge listening to Wheeltalk as I’m in the studio; it makes me feel like I’m hanging out with other potters without having to do any of the hard work of actually socializing. Thanks and keep up the great work! ~ Kimberly, Out To Sea Pottery

I always listen while I’m working at the studio, and it’s like i’m hanging out with two funny, kind, sassy friends. def helps pass the time quickly when i’m working on tasks I don’t want to do, and I love hearing how other potters run their business. very informative, keep up the great work! @karacotta_ceramics

    Informal and informative
Love this podcast. Makes my commute feel shorter and I’ve gain tons of insight into potty and business. Many of my conversations lately have started with “I heard this in this clay podcast I listen to...”

    It just keep getting better
Like some other reviewers, I was not entirely sure what I thought of this podcast but I admire both Ryan and Becca and it was nice to listen to their unscripted discussions. I actually came to them only 5 months ago but I went back to the beginning and listened to them all. Because I “binge-listened”, I was able to see the podcast grow and they keep getting better. I love listening them play off each other and appreciate their authenticity. Special shout out to Becca - thank you for your openness and vulnerability. You are willing to share it all - and this is what makes you so very awesome. Oh - and by the way - I learn stuff to, they sneak small lessons into their casual banter without me even realizing it! @k2ccreations

    Favorite pottery podcast!
I love your podcast, and it’s my favorite while I’m in my ceramics studio (or anytime really)! I enjoy your meandering conversations, hearing about your lives, pottery related and not... I also learn useful things related to ceramics and selling, social media, etc, while being entertained at the same time. You two are great companions in my studio and my pottery friend here on Maui recommended your podcast! (I see her review here too, in case you wonder why you’re getting so many Maui listeners!) Thanks for this great show!
