I think we overshot with that title.
I’m a huge fan, and I’m grateful for the show. I do think the title for today’s episode on ADHD was quite a reach. I would love a follow up the dives further into the ideas that just seemed to scratch the surface from today, and an inquiry into adult diagnoses as well. I’m surprised “the daily,“ as I don’t usually think of you as needing or encouraging click bait.

    Fell off
Used to be pretty good about covering all events but there’s absolutely NOTHING about the No Kings protests on anything NYT. Sad for “journalism”
  • Concernedct
    Why?
Why aren’t you writing about the No kings protest??

    TikTok voice?
Not a word of content need be spoken by the hosts without your larger audience being made clear that this is a dog whistle to the Dem Party “base.” You lose ALL hint of wider credibility with this loopy sing-songie identifier. But, like all news media, the NYTimes knows where the money comes from. Sadly for all of us, this base is growing smaller and smaller. The voice certainly doesn't help!

    Left wing political propaganda
Absolute propaganda. The most biased “news” podcast. Disappointing to say the least.

Not even a mention of NoKings?
Not even a mention of NoKings protests, the largest protest in the U.S. in years? Shameful

    New Hosts
New hosts, please speak normally. The start…stop…DRAMATIC WORD…thing is Michael’s. Will be listening less of each host doesn’t have their own authentic Daily style. Love the round tables, great add.

AI Assisted, but Human Reviewed to True
Listening to Marketplace is the only time I enjoy volatility—one minute I’m laughing, the next I’m questioning my retirement plan. It’s compound interest for understanding the day.

    So often missing the mark
Hey, @Rachel Abrams, how about mentioning that Iran has been funding Hizbollah and the Houthis for years enabling them to rain rockets on Israel’s cities. Maybe balance it out with facts a bit…

    This podcast fell off
Really great to see the Daily celebrating Father’s Day by pushing out an interview with a celebrity therapist about how awful and closed off men are!

    Too much Terry Real
I’ve been a loyal listener since 2017 and love the show. Adding The Interview to Saturday was a great addition to the feed. I also generally enjoy Modern Love more than the Sunday Read for the Sunday program. Do you realize though that today you gave us the third Terry Real Sunday episode since March? Is he a sponsor or something? It’s repetitive.

What was up with Barbaro during the Gavin interview?

June 12 Newsom Re LA riots
I see that the LAPD union head has blasted Newsom’s ineffectual handling and prep for the riots. One star for foisting on your listeners your leftist propaganda. Why not ask the LAPD union head to appear on your show so we get the truth from those on the front lines.

    Capitulating to Trump
What in the Fox News was that interview with Gavin Newsom? Blatantly pro-ICE, anti protest copaganda. The NYT has always had this slant but it’s been horrible the past few years. News outlets like you are part of the reason we have so many Democrats running as Republican-Lite candidates (and almost always losing, by the way). Great job helping shepard us into fascism. The NYT is complicit in this.

    Love this show!
Would totally be down to listen to multiple shows a day if there’s a busy news cycle. Can’t start my day without these shows. Always spot on!!! Love you guys

    Keep it up!
Love, listening to the real! The clips of what’s actually going on, the frankness, the interviews. Keep going and sharing and fighting! Thank you for this podcast!

Barbaro’s shameful interview with Gavin Newsom
Wow. Michael Barbaro, have you always been a brown nosing apologist for authoritarianism? You practically were saying, “Just roll over and not resist”. You just wanted to keep Newsom on his heels and are doing the work to roll out more authoritarianism.

    Should be named DNC Propaganda
Every show that has anything related to politics is HEAVILY slanted towards the democrats. They seem to get their talking points directly from the DNC. No fair and unbiased reporting on this podcast!

    Ice Arrest Ride Along
Nice job sane washing , normalising ICE street arrests. No discussion of the legality, the terror, the consequences. No alternate voices . No discussion of immigration controls potentially legislated before the Trump veto last year that could have avoided all this rationally through bipartisan legislation primarily written by the Republicans. it sure looks like you’ve bought in . And how about those two Exxon Mobil ads, greenwashing their strategies to keep us locked to their fossil fuel forever agenda. What else could be expected from the NYT that published lying ads from Mobil year after year on the opinion pages? Speechless as to why I continue to subscribe.

    No More Natalie Kitroeff
The Daily jumped the shark when it handed the microphone to Natalie Katreoff. It went from really thoughtful, intelligent commentary to an amateurish sounding, virtually unlistenable podcast. If you’re going to put all these resources into producing a highly polished show don’t disregard the listener experience when it comes to the quality of the voice who presents it.

    Will listen less
Rachel Abrams is a terrible interviewer. Not only is she abrasive, she she also doesn’t ask insightful questions.
  • Melon being frank
    Critique
The NYT has gotten on my nerves sometimes forgetting accuracy is very important but it has been digging itself out of that sssssooooooo… stick with that and I’ll stick with the nyt Context, and not staying politically loyal is going to give your pieces a timeless quality.
  • V-Spain
    Trump Musk Fued
Jonathan Swan reports and Barbaro interrupts him: “Let me understand,” then repeats exactly what Swan just said. Yep. I got it the first time. You didn’t, Michael?? Sadly this is what passes for interviewing on The Daily. Great for middle school students (I guess) but insulting to adults. I listen to hear guest reporters not the irritating interruptions of hosts.
  • anomienous
    Irrelevant
I’m desperate for some actual news, but it’s all pop culture puff. Musk’s personal life? Gen seX? Miley’s mental health? No depth, no reason to listen anymore. Shame on NYT.
  • JustOneTree
    Disinformation
Since the New York Times continues to “both sides” whether or not transgender people deserve rights (including lifesaving healthcare every major medical institution recommends), why don’t you just not “”report”” on them at all? Stop spreading disinformation that harms a vulnerable minority already under attack in the US and actually report on issues effecting significantly more Americans instead
  • GranLanFan
    Modern Love Gen X Sex
Good for Mirielle that she got to have a sexual reawakening later in life but feel bad for her ex husband that per the interview they were married for 21 years, she was effectively disabled for 15 of those years, and then she’s magically cured of her disability almost immediately post divorce. That’s some bad luck.

    The Protocol
This pod falls just under ten minutes of an hour long cast. In under two minutes it was noted that someone can be convinced that they are trapped inside the wrong body. I don’t believe that I can stomach that long of a period of a so-called “protocol” relations. Although typical America. The claim of being as singular, one, “United”. But on the inside, lack unity, totally separated by Party. Something like - OIL & WATER. If you can’t be as birth - mono - in your own body, your existence as multiple will only complicate you, and whom you are in company. Can’t you see our present presidency … massive complication. - s.jxn - ga
  • K9 and True Crime
    Retribution
I have listened with interest the coverage of DOGE, the tariffs, the Big Beautiful Bill, and the financial pros and cons. But I would be so interested in what the cost is to taxpayers as Trump exacts his revenge and forces his personal agendas against law firms, colleges, women, transgender people and even a former president. Surely we are all paying for this one way or another. Are we only “saving money” to spend it somewhere else that we, as taxpayers, will see no benefit?

    Can’t stand Michael’s voice
Michael Barbaro does this weird thing in the intro where he sounds like he’s on his death bed. Then during the interview, it’s just constant “right, mhm, uhuh, yep” followed by “very….long….DRAMATIC….pauses….betweenwords….but….sometimesreallyfast” He’s so annoying. Please just put a regular host on.

    Dislike the hosts
I’m not sure if the hosts think that daily listeners are stupid or what, but you don’t need to rephrase every answer that the guest gives you so that the audience understands it. We understood it when the guest said it. Stop trying to “put it in other words.”

    Musk
talking about his drug use is one thing but going into detail about how many kids he has seems like youre reallly just trying to take the guy down because he is pro Trump. At his worst, lets say a drug addict, he is still changing the world with his innovations and is doing more to help the world more than 99.9% of the rest pf us. Why dont you spend your time figuring out how to get your party to move past AOC, Bernie, Harris, Walz, they are lame.

    The Daily podcast
It really goes deep into issues and gives a lot of background info. The reporters ask the tough questions and really do their research in order to present the information. I know I don’t always agree and wish they would ask more people to get information but seeing anti-vaxxers being upset makes me think they are doing the right kind of reporting.

Losing trust in an old favorite
I used to listen to The Daily every morning — it was one of my go-to sources for clear, thoughtful reporting. They really felt like leaders of the “fourth branch of government,” helping us all make sense of the issues that shape our lives. But something has definitely changed over the past year. The tone now feels oddly soft — almost apologetic toward rising authoritarianism, hesitant to call out fascism directly. The analysis feels watered down and cautious, like they’re pulling punches. Honestly, it’s starting to make me wonder who this show is really for now… because it doesn’t feel like it’s for everyday people trying to understand what’s really happening. It’s disappointing to say the least.

    Terrible
The Daily is spreading false info about COVID vaccines. This is dangerous and irresponsible. Myocarditis in vaccinated kids is real. Stop denying the truth
  • johnsoncdj
    Good for Liberal Perspectives
I enjoy this show quite a lot. However, at times it borders on MSNBC. For example, today’s show on the change in recommendations for vaccines for children and pregnant women claims they are entirely politically motivated and anti-science but provides no evidence of the efficacy of the vaccines in these populations. I’m not taking sides on the issue, but if the determination of whether something is good or bad is based on the extent to which a cumbersome process is followed seems flawed. That is often the case with this show, which can’t seem to find a conservative point of view with which it agrees. However, it is entertaining, the hosts are interesting, and it considers important issues.
