lr109442Liking this podcast better than the last dude who wrote the one star reviewWhen I first wrote a review for this podcast two or three years ago, I gave it a four star rating due to RKs impression being a bit overkill and a bit annoying. Since then, the impressions have gotten better and less obnoxious (my favorite being dirty roger rabbit). Been listening to new episodes during work to make time fly by and to make it more enjoyable. Thanks for the content you guys put out and hope you guys continue to put out great content in the future!
-
ajlisteningI’m doneI’ve kept going with this show for awhile because I am just desperate for nostalgia content, but it is NOT good. The discourse surrounding Forrest Gump (including using the r-word) is the last straw for me. I don’t need to listen to these two anymore.
-
Dhatch1980Day one FanI remember stumbling on to this podcast way back in 2016. Since then I have listened every week and have gone back through the catalog several different times at this point. Though never meeting, squeezer and rk feel like friends from school. I appreciate you guys showing up every week.
-
Ryan L HoweThank youThank you for the laughs. R.K. and Squeezer return week after week with a fresh view on nostalgia that never fails to resurrect a childhood memory. These guys are so relatable that their weekly broadcast feels like trading Garbage Pail Kids with your buddies while your teacher makes Xerox copies (smokes) in the teacher’s lounge. I recently crashed my vehicle and when my phone was finally recovered the first thing I did was catch up on The Rad Years. Again thank you for your ad free, creatively gifted and reliable program.
-
victor-meGreat Show!Love the show. I look forward every week to listen on my long drive home. Ryan and Squeezer have a great dynamic, they truly embody my Rad Years. Ryans’s stories allow me to reminisce on my attempts to be the cool kid while Squeezer represents who I truly was during my Rad Years, Boy Scout, cheese eating, GI Joe belt case wearing kid. If you grew up/came of age during the 80s, 90s, or 00s I highly recommend this podcast. Just skip the “Crushes” episode 😆 Keep up the great work Ryan and Squeezer, thank you for the weekly trip down memory lane.
-
Nam SayinI poppedLong time listener of the pod and I love every second of it. I’m gonna need more lunch lady, heard she has 5 pounds of cheese waiting for Squeezy poo. Shout out to Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches and boxed Mac n cheese. Happy holidays RK and Squeezer mucho love.

BrewersArcadeStill my good ol’ reliable podcastAh the Rad Years, still a loyal listener for a few years now. The humor and subject matter never get old and I really appreciate the day to day banter from the past week prior to getting into the topic for the week. Could really use a Lunch Lady return. Keep the episodes coming! Some potential topic ideas… -BMX Bikes -Big Wheels -Everything Back to the Future -Hot Wheels -Everything Sega -Clubhouses, Forts and Tents Thanks again for making my long bike rides more enjoyable!🤘 Joe Brewer aka Brewer’s Arcade

suppressed3hundoGreat show!!This podcast is great! RK and Squeezer are hilarious in their own ways and the topics are always entertaining. RK’s impressions were annoying at first but now I can’t get enough Vince and continue to despise the now scarce lunch lady. Keep up the great work guys, I dread the day that I run out of episodes to listen to!
-
Ohio_JimmyGWhat a great show!I started listening to the show in January of 2022! I finally finished every single episode! Thanks for making my drives to work more enjoyable! The personal stories, impressions and nostalgia has been awesome! Now I have to wait for weekly episodes, what am I going to do now! Thanks guys! Jimmy

Hipster_GarbagePure NostalgiaOne of my favorite podcasts of all time. Listening to each new episode feels like hanging out with some of your old friends. Thanks and big love to RK and Squeezer for consistently bringing back great childhood memories and for the endless laughs. PLEASE do a Rad Years meet up sometime soon and get all of the Radamaniacs together in one place! Keep up the good work, guys!

arthurlynwoodBite the bullet and subscribe. As the days grow shorter and leaves begin to fall, my cravings for autumnal nostalgia begin. This is how I found The Rad Years. In my quest to fill the newly chilly mornings with as much autumn or Halloween themed content as possible, I took a break from sweater weather themed playlists and classic horror audiobooks to search the podcast libraries. “Halloween TV Specials” caught my eye, before the episode ended, I had downloaded all the available Halloween episodes - 2017-2019. As a late comer to The Rad Years, and persnickety podcast listener, I assumed that my interest would fade after two or three more episodes. I told myself this lie for years, downloading only certain episodes that aligned with my well documented interest, and abandoning the show until the nostalgia itch returned. Though not a subscriber, I found myself pushing the show on others. Family and friends stared at me in bewilderment. Before them was a man in his mid 30s whose podcast library had only ever contained by New Yorker Fiction, NPR programming, and author interviews. What brought about this change? How could I connect so deeply to a presentation that was amateurish, featured specific regional references to the Lehigh Valley - an area so far from my Nashville home, and focused on topics that have been absent from my life for years? The answer is simple. I contain multitudes. So do RK and Squeezer! This podcast offers not only interesting subject matter, but a glimpse into a great friendship. You will laugh along, and if you’re lucky and new to the show or a new subscriber, there is a rich library to enjoy.

Batman_1982Rad ShowCatching up while at work & absolutely love reliving The Mall shows. Sweet boys RK & Squeezer bring back sweet memories of the Food Court, Lights, & trying on clothes that were as bright as the neon lights at the mall. Can’t wait for Mall episode 4.
-
Asabove…Love this show! This show gives all the nostalgia of digging through your old toys in my parents attic, with none of the sneezing or claustrophobia! Y’all should do a show featuring my fave acid-trip fever-dream in cartoon form: The Elmchanted Forest! Keep bringing all the feels!
-
RichHasMonstersMy Favorite Podcast and Ad Free!Love this podcast! I’ve been listening for about 4 years and have enjoyed its weekly discussion of all things Rad from the 80’s and 90’s. The personal memories about Retro Junk Food, Commercials, Kenner, and Kay-Bee Toys are some of my favorite reoccurring topics. The show has no ads and is probably the only podcast I never have to use the skip button with. Lunch Lady and Little Squeezer bit is great! Thanks for the laughs!
-
Oncross7Very Good Show!!I’m a child of the 80’s & 90’s, and this show goes into topics from that era that I grew up with. From reminiscing about old Video Games, Toys, Movies, Shows, etc. that I remember growing up loving, to talking about how these things affected their childhood, and usually giving a rating about their favorites of all of them. This show brings me back to a simpler time, as a kid, and reminds me of the Greatness that we all experienced. They also start shows by talking about shows and movies relevant to today, which anyone relate to. They’re easy to listen to and following their stories is fun to relate to. I mostly like when they talk about the old days of retro Video Gaming, or when they do the annual watch along of Christmas Vacation! Overall, it’s a Very Good Show and I think anyone who gives it a listen, will surely get hooked!!
-
jqmesserMy weekly dose of nostalgiaListening to this podcast is like hanging out with old friends from my childhood. RK and Squeezer are the friends you miss from school. Every week I’m reminded about something I haven’t thought about in 25 years. I especially love when they talk about Batman Returns toys. Thanks for all the hard work guys!
-
MikeFulmerSqueezers Hot TakesI’ve been listening to the podcast for over a year now and it’s so great to be able to relieve old commercials, products, toys and childhood nostalgia. But honestly, the main reason I keep coming back is the controversial, yet so brave opinions of Squeezer. Case in point…on the 1994 video game episode in Sept., Squeezer’s pick the TIE fighter game, sets off a Star Wars discussion. Squeezer states that if the Empire had only given the Ewoks cheez-its, they would have stabbed Han, Luke and Leia with their spears and it’s game over. I couldn’t stop laughing because it’s so true! That’s the reason I keep coming back. Keep those hot takes coming Squeezer. The world needs them now more than ever!
-
CrazyCatMcGeeDope!!!I started listening to The Rad Years a couple months back and I am now hooked…Every week I look forward to a new episode…And when I’m not listening to their new episodes I go back and listen to old ones…Everything RK and Squeezer cover and talk about brings back so many great memories I’ve had growing up and that I’ve had with family and friends…Squeezer and RK are such a great dynamic duo…These guys are hilarious and seem like great dudes…However, even though I think RK is great on the show I really hate the Lunch Lady with such a great passion…But the show is so good that I don’t let the Lunch Lady ruin it for me…This is such a great listen…Keep up the great work!!! Matty Flip

dcb682Heaven to my earsWhere do I begin with this podcast? From RK’s fantastic impressions to Sweet boy squeezer talking about pocket hamburgers. If you were born in the 80’s or 90’s this podcast is for you! They cover some of the best time periods from toys to holidays to cereal it’s all covered! It is like going back in time and re living a Saturday morning in the 80’s or 90’s eating sugary cereal watching your favorite cartoons. RK and Squeezer put on a wonderful show and do not get enough credit for what they do!
-
LukeKnowsBJJApple pieThis show is as American as apple pie but… apple pie isn’t American. Apples and apple pie originate from Asia and the first American recipe of the pie was from England. So what are we doing guys… are you even American or are you over sea sell outs!? Do you even like Apple pie? Do you even like America!? 😉😅 Good show guys
-
jugglin_joshListening from ChinaI was surprised to see so few reviews here. This is a great podcast. Wait for it every week. Thanks guys. That was my first review, 5 stars. Now I skip though to the selections. But even then the impressions can be too much. It even gets political sometimes. It hurts to leave such a bad review because I know it takes a lot of effort to do this. Hope to leave a 5 star review again.
-
ZangariGreat ShowLet’s continue to document Squeezers erotic love affair with his sexy lunch lady! Keep up the great work, gents.
-
Drewski8719One of my favorite podcast! This podcast is a must for anyone that grew up in the 80’s and 90’s and still long for the nostalgia of those days when life seemed a little simpler. It always amazes me how much RK recalls from his childhood as if it happened yesterday. And his voice impressions are always top notch and I get excited to hear them. And Squeezer as always is a sweet sweet boy who at times I can relate too. I love when they mention something that I totally forgot about and when they do I’m hopping on Google to look up more and reminisce. I always look forward to listening to the podcast every week and keep meaning to catch them live on YouTube. Thank you both for everything! -Drew
-
The real Chad BLove it!Love this podcast! I look forward to Thursday morning to listen to it on my route! Can’t wait to hear about the time Ryan’s dad met the lunch lady and the bus driver! Keep up the great work! Chad B Moorhead Minnesota
-
MattymargsMy go-to for all things nostalgia!I’ve been listening for about a year now, and I absolutely love it! RK and Squeezer are a blast to listen to. Every podcast is trip down memory lane and I love the stories and tangents they go off on too. Some people may not like RK’s impressions but I think they’re awesome! Keep up the great work. I’m a listener for life.
-
Clint ByersNot enough impressions.I demand at least 6 per 20 minutes of show or I’ll schedule a fight at the bike rack promptly at 3:30.
-
lga1289837Has become insufferableWent back and listened to some old episodes and the difference is night and day. Used to be so fun to listen to. Now can’t go 30 seconds without an obnoxious impression.
-
BMoudryWitty, educational, and outright entertaining!I’ve been listening for a good year now, and this show has definitely grown on me! I listen while I’m working and I get excited when there is a new episode. In between waiting for new episodes, I’ve been catching up on past ones. Many of the other “Retro Podcasts”, while informative, tend to get stale. RK and Squeezer are informative as well as HIGHLY ENTERTAINING! You have to give it a chance!
-
FarrisPrintRad To The Bone! This podcast is a must for any nostalgia/pop culture addict! I’ve been listening to these boys from the beginning and it’s one of my favorite podcasts. RK & Squeezer are great hosts, and if you listen to any episode at random having never heard them before you will immediately be charmed by their banter and undeniable chemistry. And yes, you can expect loud and somewhat schizophrenic impressions of pop culture figures like Vince McMahon, Snagglepuss, Alex Jones, Macho Man and Terry Funk with more autobiographical impressions of RKs dad and Squeezers lunch lady peppered in. But hey, it’s their show and RK just lets it rip! As a long time listener I am grateful to these guys for all the work they do to put out new content every single week and for all the freebies they offer fans of the show. No matter how busy I get with my day to day life, it’s a great comfort to know that I’ve always got Rad Years episodes to tune in to. So if you want to bask in some nostalgic goodness delivered by a couple of guys that present the content in a way that makes it feel like a good hang in their living room, follow and stream The Rad Years Podcast!
-
Pagen_YooperAddicting Nostalgia InjectionsBoys, 1. The Foo Fighters are just god awful. 2. Stop blowing my eardrums out with impressions. Other then that, keep showering that nostalgia sauce all over me! MCDONALD’S BBQ SAUCE IS LIFE! Cheers!
-
ChilledNRoastedSo rad.Had to re-do my almost year old review just to say yes, more Squeezers Lunch Lady. Gold RK, gold.
-
He-BenBest podcast! Not much to say, apart from how great this show is. One of my top three favorite podcasts, hands down. But RK needs to do more impressions 😂 anyways start from the beginning, and you’ll think you grew up with RK and Squeezer. Even the episodes on topics which don't interest me are great. I ESPECIALLY love when RK adds an L to words that don’t have them and does his Vince (not Ed) McMahon impression. Hehe.
-
dstrohmengI want to clear some things up…I don’t hate RK or the show. I wouldn’t still be listening if I did. I’ve been backed up on episodes, so I had been listening to one every day. When you listen to so many in quick succession, you pick up on little vocal habits. Everybody has some. I’m sure if I had a podcast, I’d get comments. People used to tell me I sounded like Kermit the Frog. Honestly guys, I enjoy the show. But come on RK, ‘man t-ts’? I weigh like a hundred pounds. And I don’t know who you found on Twitter, but it wasn’t me. I’m not on Twitter.
-
joeknow-from CaliRadamaniacs forever!Dear Dr. Brown, on the night I go back in........ oooops wrong letter. I absolutely love this podcast, The Prince of Pennsylvania (RK) and That handsome sweet boy (Squeezer) are the absolute best young men. The Rad Years Community is a great place to talk nostalgia and everything silly in between. RK and Squeezer have given me a great gift in all this and that gift is friendship with other like minded goons. I’ve never met RK or Squeezer in person or any of the faithful listeners but I do consider them all friends (4 life) (Hulk Hogan NWO voice). Thanks RK for humoring me with all the impressions and Squeezer for the answering of questions about cheese and Todd. I look forward to many many more topics on pods, watch alongside, group chats and maybe one day a Rad meet up. For those of you that don’t give this pod 4 stars I got two words for U - Joe from California
-
erock3382Best podcast everRad Years is a podcast that only gets better with age...just like nostalgia! Throw in the fact that the hosts are the most generous people ever, rewarding YOU for listening with free swag and it’s even better. Come for the nostalgia, stay for the impressions. OOOO YEAAAAAA
-
blackbeardedtombbatMight just be my favorite podcastCan we get an impression of The Ultimate Warrior and Vince in conversation?
-
bkleppertPlease stop the impersonations!Really enjoy the topics and the hosts, but the one host’s impersonations are TERRIBLE! Each time he goes into his Vince McMahon voice (which unfortunately is very often) I have to turn my volume down, but once he stops I have to turn it back up. This continues throughout all the episodes. I’ll try to continue listening because it’s a fun listen for 90’s kids, but please stop the loud impersonations. Otherwise, 5-stars.

The Rugg BrothersRad to the Bone!!!I love this podcast!!! I first started listening a few years ago, pretty early on, when I was searching for people talking about retro board games. I remember my very first impression was, “hmmm… is it weird that one of them keeps calling the other one Squeezer?”. But then, I immediately didn’t even notice anymore, once I realized that he is a sweet, handsome boy, and that they were talking about a ton of awesome stuff! I was born in ’85, so I’m just a tad younger than RK and Squeezer. But they cover a wide range of topics that anyone close to that age will relate to. For years I have searched out 80’s and 90’s nostalgia for my own enjoyment, but I can still always count on these two to think up something that blows my mind. Something from deep in my memory that I had previously lost. Whether it’s Thunder Jet fruit snacks, creepy crawler pencil toppers, magnetic travel checker boards, or chewing Cinn-a-burst gum with the wrapper on! In a weird, and totally non-creepy kinda way, I feel like I’ve known these guys since we were kids. I can almost see myself brewing up some zombie brains and monster skin with RK and his Dr. Dreadful food lab up in the treehouse, or cutting out wooden shapes on a jigsaw with Squeezer, unsupervised. When I first discovered the podcast, I was going through a pretty ugly time at work, but listening to these guys while I was working, really helped me keep my mind off of all the negative things. Probably the most impressive part about The Rad Years, is how consistent they are with recording episodes. Almost without fail, you can always count on them to have a new episode every single week. It’s really impressive, and something that seems pretty rare in the podcasting community. After all, it’s all about quantity over quality, am I right?? I kid, of course. There are at least one or two quality episodes :) I have a very long, hour-and-a-half commute to work, twice a day. And I love that they have super long episodes and a huge back-log of them in the archive to cycle through while waiting for the next one to come out. There’s a bunch of different podcasts that I will listen to here and there. But, this is the only one that I really look forward to, and listen to religiously, every single week. I love hearing the old audio clips they pull for each of their picks, and they do a great job mixing all the audio together (especially considering they’re live and recording remotely). I for one enjoy RK’s impressions. Hands down, my favorite is Jeffrey. MORE JEFFREY PLEASE. But I also must admit that I love his Trump (not the actual guy… just the impression). A guilty pleasure of mine. Pretty much always makes me actually laugh like an idiot by myself in the car. I might not know who a lot of the others are, because I didn’t really follow wrestling much. But, I get to know them now, through some moderately acceptable impressions. I say, do as many impressions as you want. It’s your show. Maybe a young RK and Jeffrey meeting trump, back in the late 80’s, with Trump guessing at his future and telling them how he’s gonna be a reality star and then the very best president some day? I’d listen to that. Anyways, they also even have some Youtube content as well. But, I have yet to watch it, because I prefer to keep up the illusion of them looking like their cartoon counterparts on the current Rad Years logo. My 2 favorite anthro-ma-porfic Mario raccoon people. I am really looking forward to hearing this month’s slate of episodes all about 1991. Right up my alley. Can’t wait! Never stop the show guys. Sincerely, -Rob (from the Rugg Brothers, my poor, sad, failed YouTube channel...)
-
RWeilacherTo RK and Squeezer, the Rad Years boysI listen weekly, though I hardly know you. I love your podcast. Your voices. I love your rambling nonsense. I love your body language... your bodies. I’m afraid to leave a review. I don’t want to hurt you. Can we be friends? Purplesaurus Rex. Turtle Pies. Crystal Pepsi. Super Mario Bros Cereal. Signed, White Knight in Berks County PS More childhood stories told through bad Jeffrey impersonations, please!
-
FinelyDecantedCabSauvDo you want to build a snowman?Sure. Why not?
-
puuupyIndiana FanYou take the good, you take the RAD, you take them both and there you have.....the Rad Years Podcast! RK and Squeezer hit the nail on the head when it comes to nostalgia from the 80s, 90s, and occasionally early 00s. Although I’m younger (1987) I can personally relate to things they both say ( I also saw Spaceballs BEFORE Star Wars). Do yourself a favor and give these guys a listen if you are looking for some RAD memories! By the way RK... you need to check out Kokomo Toys and Collectibles if you haven’t yet! Take care and keep being RAD!! Matty B from Indiana
-
calamity wayneRaaaad stuffLove this pod, more RK’s dad impressions please, do a whole show as him, not kidding!
-
Mike_Stewart72Nostalgia FlashbackBeen a listener for three years and the guys are still a joy to listen to! I’m 48 years old and it’s such a trip down memory lane and a memory jogger for the things I’ve forgotten about. Give it a listen and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as I do!!
-
Eating inUsed to be funThis was a fun podcast for a long time but they’re clearly out of ideas. Covid lockdown has hit them particularly hard and they’ve gone from endearingly rambling to completely unfocused. On top of that the near-constant “impressions” (aka yelling into the mike (dude, stop believing the people that tell you they’re good)) have taken over, finally causing me to unsubscribe. Enjoy the episodes pre-2020 then move on.
-
PK's Geek KingdomGreat show but...I’ve been listening to The Rad Years almost since day one and have always enjoyed RK and Squeezer’s repartee and obvious chemistry. They have a love for 80’s and 90’s nostalgia that is almost palpable and it shines through each week’s show topic. But...the “impersonations” that RK insists on utilizing each week boarder on insufferable. To call them grating and irritating would be underselling it. They often make the shows near impossible to get through and I often find myself fast forwarding through segments to to avoid them. I’m still a huge fan of the show, but seriously...the impersonations really need to go!
-
DudicalofdoomWriting a review for the rad yearssssWhat can I say, this is the feel good podcast everyone’s been looking for, RKs Vince impression is so good I believe Vince is in the room with them! And don’t forget about squeezer he’s a very handsome man! Also since you’ve been on a mandalorian kick may I suggest listening to fettes vette by mc Chris if you’ve never heard of it. Anyway 5stars. Praise the church that is The Rad Years!
