Jack May-HoffNonsenseHe’s become a cult leader. If his technique is so innovative, why is no one researching it?

AUReaderContent marred by keyboard clackingVery helpful content but almost impossible to concentrate on latest episodes due to incessant typing that is very audible throughout the podcast. Maybe someone is taking notes? If so can you please find another way to do it?

NiccccccceeeeeeThis guys a jokeI can’t get this guys podcast off my phone. He’s a cold hearted person who sent me the most insensitive email back in 2016 saying he couldn’t help me in this medium. I guess you should’ve never told that story about how Monica sent you an email and you responded so nicely to her in when panic attacks. I would’ve never even thought of sending that email. Furthermore, he claims that therapy is expensive and everyone should be able to afford it yet he never says anything to his own colleagues that charge ridiculous fees of $300/hr. They’re not even real doctors! Jill levitt to name one. I went to see Elise Munoz in 2017 and paid $3k for a so called intensive and she has the nerve to reach out 3 years later during Covid to explain how she has learned from the intensive and how to make it better. Wow is all I have to say. I’m doing a lot better using Artificial intelligence so it’s good they’ll be irrelevant someday.

B in CincinnatiLove everything but the typingI’ve learned so much from the show but the mechanical keyboard typing seems very unprofessional and it makes it a challenge to connect to the content. The sound engineer could adjust your compression to keep that sound fromdrowning out your guest, or you could just use a silent keyboard or mute your mic when you take notes.

KimboqAI? Really? The things bringing people the most unhappiness in this world right now are loneliness, isolation, and wealth disparity. AI makes all of these problems worse.

RainyDayWordzEpisode 339 & 340 really touched meI felt like Orly could have been describing my life. Right down to the childhood SA experience, hiking to cope with emotions, the weight fluctuations, and lifetime of emotional eating on auto-pilot without being able to feel what was causing it. Every word she said described what I’m going through. At times during the podcast I was laughing with joy at hearing my story told to me, and also crying with joy for the hope it gave me to know that there is a trail to freedom at the top of the mountain. Listening to her story peeled back a layer of significant mystery to me, relating to the cloud of confusion and numbed feelings that have always surrounded me. I’m headed off to capture it in my journal now and meditate about it. Thank you so much, brave Orly, and everyone who contributed.

AeynrtA comfort and respite to listenI have been going through a lonelier period of life, struggling to overcome social anxieties after several years of remote work and social distancing. I truly appreciate the generosity, thoughtfulness and care that goes into each episode. The hosts are such genuine and knowledgeable people - I feel so lucky to live in a world in which people pursue the profession of helping others to live their fullest lives. Thank you Rhonda, David, Matt and all guests for caring enough about effective improvement in others’ lives to make this podcast. PS. I signed up to be a beta tester too and appreciate your efforts on the app.

jessicaalexandra0814Thank you Dr. Burns and Dr. Rhonda!Dr. Burns’ techniques, Daily Mood Log, and podcast has transformed my life and my relationship. I can’t thank you both enough for your work and all that you do. I especially love the banter and warmth and silliness of you two, which helps offset the serious subject matter. This is my comfort podcast for sure and has helped my communication (the five secrets is life changing) and experience of life. I also love the Ask David episodes.

mltlerEncourages vaccines in ocd episode1st episode I listened to was ocd in teens. Showed you could be wise in your area of expertise but an utter fool in others. Such as recommending a vaccine to protect yourself and others. Total virtue signaling around a “vaccine” that ended up harming many people and didn’t work. Good stuff on CBT but lost credibility in his total ignorance in medicine. Par for the course for the medical community. Anybody following his recommendation will be hurt more then helped. I guess the motto of “Do no harm” is out the window.

GregallenSRecovering from a breakupI am walking through my lover of 10 years decision to end our relationship. She brought her intentions to me after Thanksgiving through the week before Christmas. I have been experiencing waves of sorrow. This podcast has been definitively helpful to my being. Thank you, Greg S

KYBunnyLay listener loves this podcastI have been listening to this podcast for a couple to three years and look forward to it each week. I love the live therapy sessions and also appreciate the insight of the guests along with David and Rhonda. I know the Five Secrets have helped me in my relationships without a doubt.

BumbleBeZz93Love the questions + externalization of voicesLove love love when they give you a peak into what a therapy session would look like, especially, when they do externalization of voices. It helps me learn how to talk/rebut my own challenging thoughts!
-

rhodymjLife changing, actionable mental health informationThe podcasts and books by Dr. Burns have made my life significantly better—I’m happier, less anxious, and spend less time marinating in self doubt and negative thoughts. Thanks to Dr. Burns, Rhonda (and Fabrice) for providing so much information on TEAM CBT.
-
jfksknbfkaNot helpfulI hope the book is better than the podcast. I listened to the cognitive ones- got absolutely nothing useful from it, ended the podcast and went to YouTube for better/helpful information. Sounded like jibberish between the woman and man. Is this for people battling with these issues or is this for other therapists? My psychiatrist recommended it to me and I’m blown away at how I got zero help from it. I see so many 5 star reviews and I just don’t see how that’s possible. Also, podcasts!?! Seems outdated. YouTube videos are more engaging.
-
csc53Game changerDr. Burns’ work, books, techniques, and this podcast have been life changing for me. So glad I found these principles.

Filly Bu$terNeeds a producerInteresting & helpful but pretty amateurish when there is anything slightly inusual.

Tad DavisSometimes fantastically helpfulI haven’t always found CBT that helpful, and I’m not sure how well “TEAM CBT” translates into a self-help program. I was tempted at first to give the podcast four stars rather than five for that reason. But SOME of the episodes are fantastically helpful, and the courage of the people who come online with their problems is often quite moving. And then I listened to episode #40, describing the “interpersonal downward arrow” technique. I followed along with the process as it was being described, working on an issue in my marriage (which is well into its fifth decade), and it opened my eyes to something I’ve been doing all my life without realizing it. Whether the insight will lead to significant behavior change remains to be seen, but the insight alone was worth five stars. Thank you.

Cueva-DixonLove, love, loveI love this podcast. Has literally saved my life!

Cairns57Just what I was Looking ForWas looking for a therapist for years. Came across the book, knew it was for me. Reading and actively reading both books. Thanks for he podcasts.
-
bsabgldGoing for the book insteadFeeling Great was highly recommended to me. I have moderate depression now with a long history of major depression. I am well past the worst of all of that. I needed to get to the material fast. This podcast format seems like it’s for therapists not for clients. I’m going to get the newer book Feeling Great and get into it. I am in need of working toward relief today.
-
EMW331ThanksMy therapist (who I hadn’t seen in a few years) became trained in TEAM. It’s a great podcast to go along with therapy from a TEAM trained therapist. Everything just makes even more sense.
-
SMZB62Help is just a podcast awaySuch a wealth of knowledge David Burnes and his team are for all of us. I keep listening and learning every time. Sometimes even many repeated times on the same episode.

LuvtoreadmoreExtraordinarily HelpfulAn outstanding audio complement to David Burns’ books! Reading Feeling Good Together or Feeling Great and listening to the corresponding podcasts is like reading a textbook and then listening to the author discuss chapters with a colleague. As a teacher I recognize how effective this approach is to deep learning. To those who complain about the production please remember this podcast has NO COMMERCIALS. The informal nature, rather than a slick production, enhances the intimacy of the podcast imho. It’s like sitting in your living room listening to your grandfather talk to you aunts and uncles…and realizing that he is one of the wisest men who has ever lived. I wish I had discovered David in my 20s—it would have saved me from much frustration and heartache. Instead, I only stumbled on Feeling Good recently in my late 50s and even though I’ve learned many of his lessons on my own through the school of hard knocks, there is still much to learn. The difference is, you pick things up a lot faster when you’ve experienced years of floundering around with psychological trial and error. An absolute hidden gem that should be shared with everyone!!!
-
cheerfuldancerSoooo awkwardStopping and starting, long silences, interrupting each other, repeating themselves, background noise. If only I could focus on the content rather than how it’s presented. Do you all have a producer? If not this addition could help a lot. For now, I cringe.

Yehuda THighly RecommendedI can’t recommend this podcast enough!
-
angellistenerYou are the highlight of my weekI recently heard Dr Burns on a different podcast and fell in love with your work, warmth, humor, and humility. I have bought several of your books. They are life changing and I am one of your biggest evangelists. I frequently share specific pods and recommend your books. I started binge listening from the first one. Several of my kids are a 6 hour drive from me and I listen the entire time, making the drive speed by. As a happiness trainer , I have been able to work some of it into my talks. Your list of cognitive distortions is pure gold. And Rhonda, your warmth and insights add so much too. Hearts to you both. Betsy Smith. Thank you, thank you.

TRBeazleWhat a messI mean, there might be some good info buried beneath the time wasted with shuffling desk papers, trying to locate information, and endless self-promotion. Get to the point. I gave up trying after one half episode.
-
wandahhhGreat resourceDr Burns is such an incredible human. Thank you! All about the science backed, unmedicated approach to mental health.
-
DvanduyseGreat PodcastFor me it gives an incredible glimpse into the possibilities of a CBT informed approach. Really extraordinary clinical and human insights in every episode. And David has many great anecdotes and stories. And it nevers hurts to hear one or two of them more than once. Thanks David and everyone involved.
