Adoption-attuned ParentA stellar, informative and powerful episodeApril‘s podcasts are always excellent. In this episode, April allows us to see inside her own relationship with her partner boyfriend so that we can see one template of people committed to doing the learning about themselves and their partner who happens to be an adopted person. I appreciate the courage it took for April and Steven to reveal such a personal peek into their private lives.

YAJ3Great show and awesome for purpose!April is a spearhead for those of us who have navigated the foster care system or adoption. Simply, are many sensitive issues that don’t get discussed and April makes these discussions meaningful, instructive and holistic in its discussions. Please share far and wide with adoptive parents and those in the foster care community. Great work, April!

keke verdeGrateful beyond wordsI am a white Resource Parent and possibly one day Adoptive Parent. April and the brilliant Humans she has conversations with on her podcast have changed me. They have given me vocabulary when I had none. They open my eyes to things and given me perspective where I had no awareness. The conversations about the duality of emotions that exist in adoption and foster-care have been refreshing. I am forever grateful.

337/51Exploring adoption, identity and family with brother Michael and MarkBrilliant insight on the development process of adoption. I personally know Mark and to hear his brother and him talk about the early years of their family growth, and the unfamiliarities behind their aging experiences and self belonging is amazing! A great podcast and will recommend to those who seek some background and knowledge behind the adoption process and some of the topics that most tend to stray away from. A good podcast deserving a good review👍🏼

Mindful runnerThoughtful and relevantThis is a great podcast for more deeply understanding issues of adoption and transracial adoption as well as insights we can gain from the adoptive experience. As a transracial foster-adoptive parent I’ve learned a lot from listening. April is a great host because she adopts multiple perspectives, provides context on the discussion, skillfully interviews her guests by asking great questions and inserting her own experiences in a meaningful way, and brings an attitude of hope and love to the topics.

Cateyes1114Your gonna cry (in a good way)As a fellow adoptee, I throughly enjoyed this podcast. I have no one in my close circle who is adopted so it’s hard to relate. This podcast is so relatable to my journey and the journey of finding my biological family. I cried during a few podcast, the process has been very enjoyable!

She is truly an old soul with so much knowledge and love to give to all. Her podcasts are poignant, enlightening and soothing at the same time. I look forward to every new podcast as I know I will learn something every time and the emotions they evoke are powerful. BdubcsmThank youMy wife is biracial and was adopted as an infant. Your podcast has definitely helped her and she feels like you understand her struggle on levels I can't comprehend. Thank you for sharing your journey because it is reaching people more than you know.

walkingmonaShe says what I know but don't often hearI found the best way to listen to these podcasts is lying down, with my eyes closed. April's voice is soothing, and I pretend that these are the stories my mother told me at bedtime when I was a child. It feels healing and peaceful. As an adoptee, it's such an amazing experience to have someone retell close variations of your own life. This was a diffifult review to write because I have so many feelings and so little space. I did the best that I could. Just listen. You'll understand.

DignunWhat insights! This is a surprisingly well done and thoughtful podcast about adoption from the perspective of an adoptee and apparent highly regarded advocate in adoption/mentoring circles. I hope April Dinwoodie (the host) keeps at it. She’s great! The first few episodes she’s been tracing her own adoption experience as a transracial daughter in a white family... but from something I saw her post- she expects to expand out on the subject. I look forward to that too.
