scotusTerrible DefenseThe defense was awful. The prosecutor was one of the most inarticulate morons ever. Seriously, peak stupid. I love Vinnie Politan.

cltgt554Excellent Season 2!This is a crazy case of corruption and cover up. No doubt. But in your follow up episode it seems you all are mossing one thing when talking about locked closet door. I have seem where this has been done in case of DV. It was where wife could grab kids and lock themselves in closet, keeping away from battering spouse. Just something to think about. Again, great podcast! It should be listed on its own to make it easier for others to follow. 😊

Kquigl33THE BREATH SOUNDS ARE KILLING MEI so badly want to love this podcast but I don’t know if I can even finish the first episode due to the obnoxious breathing coming from Jessicas friend when she speaks. Sounds like she’s jogging while speaking, she’s so out of breath.

Em9677FactsThank you for saying it…growing up in GA I only knew Grady as a dirty failing hospital. It is not that now…but anyone of Tex’s age would never take his wife there.
-
Betty Draper74Tex McIverMcIver is guilty of being an unappealing person who made ridiculously bad choices in the aftermath of this shooting- a shooting which EVERYONE agreed resulted from a horrible judgment call. Sadly, the assigned judge remains clearly biased despite being corrected by the Supreme Court.

Herrow herrow how lowSEASON 1 ONLY!!!STOP this unethical practice of recycling podcast feeds to publish and UNRELATED podcast, just to leach off the existing ⭐️’s. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) PODCAST already covered this case 2 years ago. Rich racist misogynist gets away with murdering his wife for HER money… because the rich gotta stay rich. ONLY LISTEN TO SEASON ONE: THE OFFICER‘S WIFE. This feed has been occupied by a terrible new podcast that‘s not even pretending to be a “Season two.” And the way the Tex story’s being told — as-if the trial’s live, in real time, and on-going — is unethical reporting. While the conclusion reached in the Officer’s Wife was the “safe” choice, not the right summary and conclusion it deserved; failing to delivery justice in the form of TRUTH for the wife who was very clearly murdered by her Cop husband — like so many spouses of cops (male & female) — this podcast still stood out as one of my all-time favorites. Now, tragically, it’s positive feedback’s gone thanks to this ridiculous theft of the feed; literally erasing the actual podcast because the creators wanted to capitalize off an existing successful podcast feed — just to Re-tell the OLD Tex story in the driest way imaginable, with absolutely no insight added. This is LAZY. Just a money grab. Only gave this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ To help revive The Offer‘s Wife‘s deserved avg this greedy publisher decided to destroy.

MaverickAbundanceTHIS PROSECUTOR IS FOSThis prosecutor makes me sick to my stomach! It’s all about him!!!! The prosecutor LIES AND LIES! Makes me sick!
-
Golferstan7569Poor podcast reportingCan’t stand “true” crime podcasts that discuss theories and not facts. Don’t waste your time. Just a lot of people spouting “maybes.”
-
Tulips21Frustrating truth ‼️Tex’s gun didn’t go off ACCIDENTALLY! The trigger was squeezed when sleeping while during a RARE SLEEP DISORDER! Tex had bad defense lawyering that didn’t explain it this way & didn’t have right experts 🙄 TRAGIC 😞 this is only one of the reasons it is ridiculous he was convicted. Thanks for the pod 🥰

sdc70Meegan’s mealy voiceGood god Meegan, the breathing, the smacking, I cannot listen. And PS Meegan, you’re such a hypocrite, saying how controlling Matthew was and then following up with saying you couldn’t check on Jessica because your fiancé wouldn’t let you. Bleh, you’re a disgusting person.

#smithereensPage TurnerSeason 1 is a "page turner" - I binged the entire season in one evening, while cleaning house and cooking dinner. It's so so good!
-
Cheeze whiz26DumbI hate theses stories where the talk to the family and friends, people always act like they “knew” he was bad. I don’t doubt the guy did it but hearing these red necks is makes this less compelling
-
r1golden234And another hit!!!!!!Add this season in my ten years ago bucket reminder list for….” What’s cool nowswwwaass?!” #Podcast/podcastpeople
-
Trg loverGreat showAnyone that thinks he did this on purpose is an idiot
-
thornbusjExcellent!I just finished this podcast today it was absolutely riveting great job and theReporter Sheila! Wow!
-
mfdsnhighly recommend!great podcast! people always eventually get what they have coming to them! Karma is real! Justice for Jessica !! God saved her life so she could speak her truth & its a shame how corrupt some police stations are ! this makes me scared to live in Georgia!
-
Stanco23Re-Open the CASEThis man got away with attempted murder…… such a shame.
-
vpberryWow.Great podcast, but my blood was boiling the entire time. How could he possibly manage to squeeze his way out of something he SO clearly did??? Mind blowing hearing these officers lie for this man.. I’m flabbergasted. Wow.
-
Chellebabe_1WOW!Great show! Police coverups will forever be, unfortunately….
-
Lily G's momGUILTYAm I the only one who thinks the composition book was in the bag that Matt took & lied about? I think he found her bag, with the notebook in it, read it, snapped, ripped the incriminating pages out & placed it in the closet when he attempted to kill her. (The Officers wife)
-
Mal1197Interesting Case, Average PodcastThe podcast was a little too drawn out for the lack of actual substance that is in the case (which is also a testament to just how BOTCHED the investigation was). For what seems like it could be a really compelling narrative, the podcast could have been done in 2 episodes as that’s just about as much is there is to talk about.
-
olliwipGuiltyThere is no doubt in my mind. He did it ! What a shame that he walks free!
-
jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjsssssssInformative I enjoyed it- He is a liarWhat sealed it for me was no blood spatter in the closet- why ? Because he hit her on the back of the head with the but of the gun (that’s why she can’t remember anything after that) poor dog where’s the little dog? And the Kids they must have been devastated! He kept making calls and reports to dispatch to cover his tracks his is guilty!
-
Bai-DurBoba FettI really think that he tried to kill his x wife if you really listen to it he lie’s through out the whole case and if she shot herself in the head she would have had gunpowder residue on her hands and she didn’t have any on her hands and she had to much to live for she had 2 kids
-
Tobyj52Here LatelyIn the text she supposedly sent to him it said “Here lately” I heard him say that same phrase twice in this podcast and I don’t think she said it once. “Here lately” sounds like something he would put in a text.
-
Maland2001Well covered story, but…You all done a great job on this story! Yes, I believe the whole story is fishy. My question is, did anyone ask Jessica of the closet door lock from the inside before the accident. Surely, she would know if it did. Another question, did anyone check the bathroom door knob?
-
its ne ConnieGreat…but so many questionsI loved listening to this. But one huge question remains for me…were cell phone towers pulled from both cell phones? Did she send the last text or was it him? Would love to know the answer to that question! Thanks!
-
kayferguson13Great overall but…You introduced a random trucker with a Facebook account who's somehow associated & with one of the players. This man comes out of left field - he just pops up. You gave no background of the trucker. Also how would someone who's moving, esp someone with no memory know that 1 duffel bag of her items was missing? What was in the bag, a million dollars? The cop is arrested for actions related to what I assume is a bag of clothes? This is the weakest case I’ve ever heard. Divorcing people do all sorts of dumb sh*t. I keep questioning why I’m still listening. WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE? The disconnects are a turn off.
-
J Dub McGNarrator VoiceThe narrator’s voice was monotone, unimaginative, unemotional, YouTube text to voice. .. ruined everything. Couldn’t get past the first episode.
-
dkninerReason why he called his own police departmentI’ve been in a similar situation. The reason why my ex called the police was because he was trying to leave the relationship, but would not get custody of the kids. So prior to the relationship ending, he called the cops with minor complaints to develop a case file of “evidence”, to help get the kids. One minor thing is insignificant. But many, adds up. Things gat don’t require too much attention but enough to walk away with the kids despite being a husband and father with things to hide.
-
rosalleaOverdone and uninterestingWay to long a story for such little content with unneeded details. Needs a clear, concise summary b/c it is full of fluff and disjointed tangents. Did not keep my interest Use birth control people and plan realistically, and perhaps widen your experience before embarking on living a false script of.
-
srobaldoWhy does this podcast not match up with the evidence? Why does Jessica in this say they can’t remove a bullet from her. Yet in every other interviews she has done and does she and the evidence say she was never shot? I loved this podcast and felt terrible for Jessica until I discovered this lie. So which is it?
-
keesww?Story is good. But they don’t organize the show well. I mean who is the truck driver? Etc. just lacking. Sometimes hard to follow.
-
nickanderhoeyVery well done! This is an excellent show! Binge it!
-
littleporkbaoGood StoryI enjoyed the show not only because it was interesting but because I didn’t even know about this story and I live in Georgia. It was a bit anticlimactic but I hope new updates come out and some light is shed on the case because I do believe something fishy occurred and the show does a great job of introducing that theory
-
blazing in the DesertRivetingBinged them all in one evening.
-
jcburns216EnjoyReally enjoyed this story!!! Looking forward to more!!
-
McNiel familySlow & anticlimacticIt’s an interesting story, but lacking. Just takes a long time to get nowhere. I gave it 4 stars purely because I wanted to hear the ending. But the last two episodes seem to trail off with no resolution. Also, in a lot of the interviews you can hear breathing & mouth noises. Makes it seem like cheap production.
-
B3asyProduction is goodReporting is sub-par. I would not recommend.
-
eeb11Listened in one sittingInteresting story and very detailed reporting. My guess: husband hit her on the head with the flashlight that went with his gun- which he spoke about wanting to get back during his conversation with police. The old boys’ club is terrifying... It’s amazing that Jessica survived and hopefully she’s having a good life.
-
NoorkittyGreat podI am not convinced he did it. The friend gives me the creeps though. Her version is also not corroborated since Jessica is not there to corroborate friends version. Also she went back to sleep when she knew their relationship was awful? Expect the worst and run in not, go back to sleep! Agree, very Pam Hupp
-
Trace_PDXGreat Podcast - A Quick QuestionI listened to this entire podcast in one sitting. Very well produced. Question... Was there ever a check as to where his cell phone was pinging when she made the suicide text and then the texting immediately afterwards with the girlfriend? I know that if he really was heading out to meet a friend when it came in, he could be close to home, but I am amazed at how accurate the towers can be to pinpoint where someone was. I bet his phone pings in the same place as Jessica’s because I believe he wrote/sent the text to himself after he had shot her, staged the scene, etc.
-
treeseePodcastLoved the story. Just can’t understand how her husband wasn’t charged. Keep up the good work.
-
Kristina LandrumGreat podcastSo are all the podcast is really great investigationMystery was good it had me gasping more than usual in any other podcast but I don’t recall Jessica admitting to the cheating against her husband only heard it from himBut I understand that you have to percent every the side of the story and get a story from everyone wether it’s true or false
-
KaroljeanLier!!!Love the podcast! Nothing but lies coming from this idiots mouth! Guilty as sin! These law enforcement people need to be jailed for their ignorance in this case. Unfreakinbelievable!!
-
DdtuchSo good!!!This podcast is shocking, maddening and so very good!!!!! Please listen, you will not be sorry.
-
SchoncherNot so fastThere’s a difference between being a trained investigator, a grand jury, the ability to obtain conviction, and story telling. This is story telling. It is not any of those other activities/roles. I was a 4-4.5 stars until the final episode where the journalists go into their greatest speculation. Some of it makes sense. Some of it underscores why this is story telling and not criminal investigation. The story left me dissatisfied overall, but kudos to the truck driver. Oh, and that’s another profession as well.
-
Patrick39047GuiltyThat crooked gutless coward police officer absolutely shot his wife. No parent, under any circumstance, no matter what, would run out of an apartment without checking on his children. You don’t need any other evidence. He’s guilty. He knows he’s guilty. He’s a piece of crap lying pathetic coward.

MSDO55MSDAOIs it any wonder why the public have issues with law enforcement, especially good ’ol boy law enforcement? Great podcast. Keep exposing the cracks.
