Sweet Dreams

29

At twenty-one, Rob Malloy is a successful San Francisco entertainment manager and has achieved more than most men twice his age. Wealthy and famous for closing any deal, he may seem to have everything a man could want. However, he longs to meet a woman he can share his life with. Victoria Knox is a poor eighteen year old student who dreams of nothing but becoming a singer. Dating is the last thing on her mind when she accidentally bumps into Rob in an airport gift shop on Christmas day. Instant attraction draws them to one another, despite their different lifestyles. Looking as if he stepped out of a GQ ad, Rob exudes high class and money. Victoria is convinced he is too good for her, but Rob is immediately attracted to how she freely shares her innocently opinionated views. He likes her down to earth personality that is such a breath of fresh air compared to the gold digging socialites he is normally plagued with.In this love story, Rob introduces Victoria to a high society world where she meets the rich and famous. For the first time she dares to believe her dream of becoming a singing star is possible through Rob’s industry connections. However, Rob is different from anyone she has ever met and she fears she won’t fit into his world. Her mother adds fuel to Victoria’s misgivings by questioning Rob’s intentions. Though sincere, Rob may have trouble convincing his country club parents that Victoria is a proper match. Join Rob and Victoria as they battle social class lines, parental disapproval and ghosts from their pasts to prove that their love is meant to last. Music by Neil MacPherson.

Alright if u can get past a few things!
Story ok but slow. A bit boring but passed the time. Forwarded till the end... which was nothing special. Voices are Terrible. The main characters had no chemistry! Sounded like my 4 year old talking to a monotone robot which is running out of batteries. Her next story will hopefully be better. Can't get his awful voice out my head!

    Some pointers
It's a good story but the narration is a bit odd and the voices don't fit the characters and I would recommend for your next podcast a shorter introduction but overall it was great!

Story's okay, narration is almost unbearable
The story was fine, but the reader's voice was almost comically bad. It's really disconcerting to listen to a romance where the heroine's voice sounds six years old. Also, it was read incredibly slowly and with lots of incorrect pronunciation. For me, the solution was to play it on my iPod at 2x speed. Then, the narration was closer to a normal speed... I appreciate the time and effort the author must have put in to furnish us with this free podcast. Hearing a child speaking about and having sex, though, is just icky.

Story line is good. Great writing. The sounds of the voices do get annoying though.

    Sweet Dreams
Good story line that kept me interested. The narration was a bit odd, but the story line overcame the strangeness. I hope the story of Victoria continues!

    Good romance but.....
The story itself was a lovely romance that I enjoyed a lot but.... the authors voice and inflection is almost laughable sometimes. Very distracting. Also I couldn't help thinking that she is probably the same person as 'Emeran Rich' , who wrote a different podcast that equally annoyed me. Overall, if you can get past the voice, the story is good.

    Sweet Dreams
This Podcast was a total surprise for me. It took me a couple episodes to get used to the narrator and her style and voice. Her voice is unusual. But as the story progresses you lose the worry about the narrator and get into that characters. It is wonderful to go on Victoria's adventure with her as she finds her man and grows into womanhood. It truely becomes a rags to riches story in the first story in what I beleive will be followed up with Starstruck as the series continues. I am downloading that story as I am writing this review. I just hope that there will be more novels coming from this very talented writer. Thank you for "Sweet Dreams" and am looking forward to "Starstruck" next.'

I mostly don't like love stories but I love this one in two days I listened to the first two books and now I can't wait for the last book . Can't wait to here it . It is just like I was there watching from the sidelines instead of hearing it.

    Poor choice for audio
The audio on this is so hard to listen to, I couldn't even make it through the first chapter. The voices are very stiff and monotone. It's unfortunate that I couldn't stand to listen long enough to find out if it was a good story.

    Absolutely the worst podiobook here.
I hate to be a negative person, even on these reviews, but this one was terrible!!!!!! If you want to listen go ahead, but be warned, it's pretty bad. The narrator's voice (not sure if it's the author) is very saccharin-sweet, like a fake baby-voice, sorry, it got on my nerves. Especially since it's a "romance" novel, it felt creepy! She was supposed to be a very mature, intelligent, deep and eloquent 18 year old, but her dialogue was that of a normal (sometimes silly) teenager. Not once did she say anything to the contrary. The whole story, plot, characters, timeline, EVERYTHING was ridiculous. Granted it's my first foray into a romance novel, maybe they're all like that, but I sincerely hope not. Skip!!!

    Not bad
This podcast has a good story. However, the narration and voices seemed to be unimaginative. Just the reading by the author may have allowed for me to give a better rating review.
  • Well, I want some to
    loved it!
I loved the story and would love to hear book #2. Like others I thought the voices sounded a little obnoxious at first. However, I guess my own imagination took over since by the end I'd gotten used to them. Can't wait for more!

    Nice!
This podiobook/podcast story was great. The only thing is the voices. They seemed kind of odd to put it lightly as well as the narrator. All in all the romance was great and everything else. Hope the next book comes out.

    Romance done right !
I'm not a big Romance fan but I have really enjoyed this podcast. Emz brings Rob and Vickie's story of love to life with her narration skills. The quality of the podcast is terrific and the voices are all well done. There's also some humor in the story. Vickie's grandma cracks me up.
