DragonShrimp5Great show, offensive adListened to the latest episode and it began with an extremely offensive and distasteful ad for H&R Block. In it a woman states, “I needed it when I dated that mistake 5 months ago.” Modern media portrays men as lovable at best, but fools. The typical sitcom dad, to incompetents that make the female lead look more endearing. At a time when men are unaliving themselves at an increasingly exponential rate with 10k a year, and an education gap where men are 8x less likely to get a degree than women, it is no longer acceptable to use men as an open punching bag. This show is great, and I love it. Hoping the ad is removed and I can update to a 5 star review.

WtfsteveAwesome deep-divesDifficult subjects treated with care and well-times asides.

Ratfink82Historical Storytelling At Its FinestI recently found this podcast searching for information on Crazy Horse. This might be the best podcast channel I’ve ever heard, I think k I have now listened to every episode Daniele has put out! Phenomenal show !
-
DaPing 1John BrownOne of the most informative dives into a subject that i have experienced. From what I sense you are not glorifying John Brown, rather you are providing needed context. Reminds me of Gavrilo Princip. Excellent review! Thanks Scott
-
devil zillaCapisce?Whoa Professore! Love you and this pod but let’s please not list the Iraq war as an example of a “hit them first before they can hit you” strategy since they had NOTHING TO HIT US WITH IN THE FIRST PLACE. There were no WMDs and Dickbush knew it, (Cheney’s office planted the story in the NYT claiming evidence Saddam had them.) If you were merely referring to the lie as it was told and sold to us, that is not clear in the way you said it. Otherwise, superb work, thanks for all you do.
-
Texn 334UnfollowedThe glorification of John Brown and his bloody path of killing from Kansas to Virginia was the last straw for me and this show. I’ll enjoy my history from other sources that don’t justify these actions.
-
AllbeagleGrandma! This is the best episode of one of the greatest podcasts!! Thank you for sharing this personal story.
-
Rmac757Outstanding!The best history podcast out!
-
DrTalI think I know a subject well and Daniele Me so much more about itEvery two or three months I get a wonderful present from History on Fire. Sometimes he will do a deep dive, like the story of Diogenes. Other times he will do Min episodes like the 20+ hours the plains indigenous people. his a martial artist, and you have to hear what he has to say about Bruce Lee and how learning martial arts helped the women fighting for women’s rights in England. The breadth of his topics is amazing.
-
sammy sourTop tier history podcastingDaniele is an excellent history podcaster. He is the best history podcaster on Native American history and he’s a great story teller. Elite on every level. Can’t miss pods on the Taiping, Spanish conquest of Mexico and American conquest of the North American west. I Can’t recommend him enough.
-
Plumi.eHow to overcome the impossibility of accentI am very interested in the information but his accent is so thick I can only catch a few words. I even turned to the slowest recording and it is still mumble jumble in the lowest registers. I intend to give him a few more tries because I love history. His version doesn’t seem so left slanted as others
-
MadFantasyFootballerDoes it as always!Love his approach to the stories he presents here. Been a fan since the early days when I first heard you on JRE
-
BanjolierI’m with the 10 Star Reviewer!Informative, entertaining, well-researched with a charming host.

SimbaWilliamoutstandingMy favorite episodes are related to the wars in the Black Hills, but all of the episodes are great. Deniele's presentations skills are excellent. I'm glad to see that this podcast is back.
-
PunkIsIntheMindWonderfully entertaining podcast !I just found Professor Bolelli’s podcast and it is one of the best and most enjoyable podcasts I’ve had the pleasure of listening to. Professor Bolelli’s cadence and light sense of humor is fresh and informative. Highly recommended.

PJ94zHard to listen to accent of hostThe host has a very very heavy Italian accent- how can this be rated so high? Fake reviews? I can’t understand half the words this guy speaks & that’s with me focusing really hard lol
-
Creviews24/eAmazing podcastLove this podcast glad it’s back
-
MarrrumExcellent Podcast!Daniele, Thank you for creating such an great show. It’s a good one to turn to whenever I want to cleanse my pallet from current events and melt into the world of history. I also rest assured that you’ve done your due diligence in researching the subject matter and present the facts as they are. I always find myself entertained whenever I listen. Best wishes,

JRs BBQGreat StorytellingDB does a great job of weaving together the sources and putting the events in context with very little editorializing.
-
TheAmericanSouthwestFun and funny historical podcastI love DB and his stories and the way he tells them. He is inspirational and he makes history even more exciting!
-
Mombo-ManBack at lastDanielle is fantastic. Historian scholar and storyteller extraordinaire. Don’t let his accent stop you from enjoying his knowledge. Thankfully no longer behind a pay wall. Listelean.
-
manayunk wallhard to understandGreat info, but his accent/command of the English language is just so bad that i find myself constantly having to rewind to relisten to a passage. It really is so bad that at first I thought it was a comic affectation. I wish the author would take 2 years off and just master English in a dialect that can be clearly understood by a native English speaker then I would give this a 5 star review. I mean no offense, just tyring to offer advice to make this a better podcast.
-
Jordan TewariWas great. He doesn’t upload much these days. Lots of reruns and new content is scarce and not long enough for the time between episodes. I’ll miss the good old days.
-
not a nutterOne of the bestThis is one of the best history podcasts. Excellent lecturer, well researched! I am trying to place 5 stars!! I hope it goes through
-
Anth0711Good history, tiresome ideologyEach episode is well research and presented. The topics are almost always quite interesting. Unfortunately, DB seems compelled to insert his leftist ideology- this is unnecessary and diminishes his objectivity.
-
CmreuterJust enjoy the accent…I could listen to his quaint Italian accent all day if he were talking about anything, but he is always talking about something enthralling and he offers a fun take on each topic and provides some of his own wisdom along the way.
-
Sooke OrcaThe Glorious ReturnI am so happy to see History on Fire is back! I love the variety of subject matter on this podcast and how it touches on many characters and events I was previously ignorant to. I recommend it to anyone!
-
S8185Great story tellingI especially like the Roman/Germanic tribes stories. The stories of plains Indians have become a new favorite. Daniel does have a strong Italian accent but it is not hard to understand. He is an engaging story teller that brings you into the world as it was! Edit- just listened to the Emmett Till episode. Even though I was familiar with the story, it brought me to tears. I maintain this is a five star podcast!
-
Blue Eyed Farm Girl from CaliMaking History SexyBravo!!! Love your podcast. Telling a story in relatable terms certainly goes a long way. Am a lover of history… one of the best story tellers of the ancient world
-

Gman BradWonderful podcast!Well done and informative! This is what HardCore History would be if Dan Carlin had a sense of humor! I can’t wait for each new episode.
-
McpaistyAddictingLove the story telling.
-
rondakay3343History is fascinatingSubscribed to the podcast a while back but just finally listened to one. Started with “Give me back my legions”. My favorite time period in history. I’ve always loved history told as a story rather than reading a boring book, and Dan is an excellent story teller. Love this podcast and love the accent. Thank you Dan, wish you the best.
-
NoleFan_89Daniele hates the WestA moral subjectivist who never misses a chance to wag his finger at Christian Europeans but glosses over the brutality of peoples like the Plains Indians and Aztecs.
-
r3mainCalmFantasticGreat storytelling, can hear the effort that is put into each episode. Fantastic job
-
Soren-----Too many ads—waste of timeBeen following this show since the beginning. Love the detail he gets into with each topic. Hate to unfollow it but now there are anywhere between 10 and 30 minutes of ads per episode. My time is valuable and I don’t have time to scroll through five minutes, pause and see if I missed any actual content, scroll again, and again, and again. So disappointing. The ads are all random lengths so you can’t just skip ahead ten minutes and listen to the actual show. I think he has a paid version on some website where it’s just the content, but for anyone who can’t afford that, there are dozens of similar podcasts with equally great content, and that don’t waste your time. Sorry but I had to unfollow. No longer worth it.
-
kh29825Simply wonderfulLike History? With Great research? A sense of humor ? Yes to all the above for History on Fire. 100% recommend if you enjoy getting a deep dive into something that I promise you can use to have conversations about the subject later.
-
Akshay NanavatiIncredibleDaniele is a true master at his craft and does a fantastic job of making history come alive. Highly recommend this show to learn the lessons from history and use them to improve our present, and future.
-
Harland910Fantastic!Great History podcast, love learning about all the things that were never taught in my history class. Great job Daniele, can’t wait til the next episode 🙌🤌
-
beeze20You put the cast behind a paywall, but you have the balls to ask me to contribute to your Patreon?Whatever. Also, the Beast of Gevaudan episode is unlistenable. The low end is off and making my speaker shake. Luminary seems awesome. Lol
